A Strong Suggestion to the Brink Developers

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 10:14 pm

Here is a link of what the game looked like during development:

Now in comparison, BRINK looks entirely different. I do in fact love this game, but trust me, I guarantee that if you can administer this same look to the game with some sort of patch or update, you will have reached perfection. ( Don't forget the Lag on both the PS3 and XBOX 360).

Overall, that video is what most likely gave brink its hype, and I must admit, it looks damn good. I'm pretty sure others would agree with me, even the parkouring contains more fluidity in its appearence.

Regardless, good job Splash Damage, and Bethesda.

The lighting and that looks awesome. But it was the cinematic trailer that got everyone excited (and ultimately a little disappointed)

I like the old so much more. They took out it telling you how much exp you got for the obj, they made it looked crappier and less smooth. They took out Heavy, medium and light weapon loadouts. Why would they do this?!? They took out a bunch of great stuff. T.T

I do like to try and get my voice heard. It's just such a drastic change in look, and map types. If i'm right, the video has container city which looks so cool.

They had that build to be able to show off as much as possible.

Example: The Heavy, Medium and Light loadouts were never going in the game. Body Type changing could only be done in between games. However, to show that off, they'd have to go out and into the appearance menu and blah blah blah and it would take too long.

Ultimately, most of these things were simply to show off the main mechanics but not the finished look and product. Sprinting animations and some Smart moves look different and I have to say, they look better too.
I'm happy with the retail version.

They don't, actually. Occasionally, a Splash Damage employee might lurk around here, but you'll have more luck on the http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=17

Is there any way to implement such graphic changes to this game as of today?

Yes, actually. But that'd put more strain on computers, and is impossible on today's consoles - while you can upgrade a computer's hardware/software, upgrading a console also breaks the majority of its functions.

Crysis 2 doesn't look to good on consoles because they're stuck at DirectX 9. Crysis 2 requires DirectX 11.
