I'm intrigued by Ashur's Pitt with it's manufacturing capabilities, but Ashur's running a pretty unprofessional operation he's got going over there. It's possible he could overtake the Eastern Brotherhood over time but then there's....

.... The Institute. We know they can make advanced Androids. If they have production capabilities, that could be powerful faction. Who knows what other tech they're hoarding over?

NCR has my vote for the West Coast factions. They can play the numbers game better than anyone else. It's likely they could take on anyone on the East Coast fairly easily as far as we know.

Ashur's "army" is probably between 100-500 guys. He only has manufacturing going for him.

NCR has at least tens of thousands of soldiers for sure. It would even make sense if they had about 100,000. If the NCR or Legion has trouble with any east coast faction then something really wrong is happening.

If you added the majority of grouping raiders in Pennsylvania(not sure if they are united we only know of Ashur's Pitt), but Pennsylvania is mostly run by Raiders by what I've read and seen. Ashur's Pitt is only part, if not less of what Pittsburgh is.

Ashur feeds his army through caravan raids... their are only SO many caravans in the water struggling Wasteland to feed an army daily. I think 100-500 sounds reasonable About this group of raiders, who are they? I could have sworn Ashur has already "killed the leaders" of the raiders, is their in game dialog of struggles from other raider groups? i dont rememeber hearin anything like this

If we're associating the Courier with the Independent faction, we should also have the option to associate him/her/it with the others, since they're all options, at which point the harnessing of the Big MT and SM technology goes all ways. The only faction that MIGHT (and it's a pretty substantial might) not benefit from it is the Legion, dependent on how Caesar views these advantages.

IMO the MWBOS take the crown. They have the numbers (if the good warrior takes over) and supreme military force. If they went toe to toe with the NCR, the BOS muties, ghouls, rehabilitated raiders and elite paladins will crush NCR (in my head anyway).

Until I see some numbers that indicate a force larger than the NCR's million man army I'd have to go with them; at least until Liberty Prime is operational again. At that point the CW BOS will reign supreme.

Is the one million man army thing just an exaggeration?

I thought it was a few hundred thousand strong, to include non-combat roles as well.

I was guessing 100,000 soldiers active and reserved.

Obviously the Chosen One (Wouldn't doubt it if he/she is still alive), Lone Wanderer and The Courier are exempted from participating.

Midwestern BOS and Ashur's Army has no chance. As much as I love House, New Vegas wouldn't be able to go against the NCR and Legion, same goes for the Eastern BOS which got a lot of things done thanks to the LW. House had the element of surprise against the NCR/Legion, that won't be the same this time around.

I'll go with Caesar's Legion for a very simple reason. The battlefield won't be fought on a dam, the dam is very restricting as to what you can do tactics wise. The Legion is based off of the Romans and they were famous for the Phalax formation where they would send hundreds if not thousands of guys in a formation and just send them forward like water flowing south on a river. With the battlefield being in a place that is not Hoover Dam, Legion would be able to do different type of tactics. Yes the NCR have Snipers but they aren't going to do much when a Preatorian is shoving his Ballistic down their throat.

You argument makes no sense. The Legion actually uses effective tactics at the Dam, the NCR is the one who would be able to change their tactics in other types of Battlefields. Also the Romans were the ones to basically obsoleted the Phalanx strategy.

Protip: When you encounter Legionfags it's best to just smile and nod and back away slowly.

I have half a mind to report that.

Anyway Wombat is right, that didn't make much sense. Plus we don't exactly know to much about Legion tactics in the first place.

I agreed with him. I just think it's pointless to engage people who seriously advance the idea of the Legion being an effective fighting force anywhere but along the Colorado river against an NCR force led by a moron who doesn't know what an enveloping maneuver looks like.

Their foot soldiers, maybe. Their ranger forces and heavy troopers, and even 1st Recon, who are bafflingly not deployed along the front lines, are a crack assault force that could crush the Legion in days if it wasn't being held on a leash by General Oliver.

Not that I'm aware of; anyway they're being kept in reserve by Oliver. He's a completely incompetent commander.

A majority of the NCR soldiers don't have the training that the Legion does. I also disagree about the dam being more effective for the legion, back in the 1st battle for Hoover, the NCR Snipers were picking off the Legion veterans at the back of the rank, that doesn't happen if the battle occurs outside of the dam because they'll be more room to move around.

You are only comparing the Legion regulars to a NCR recruits. The NCR doesn't have regular infantry in the Mojave whatsoever. Even when the battle starts they just send in some special forces along with the recruits.

And have you not beaten the game? In all of the endings the Legion goes through the tunnels etc, etc, etc. Clearly they are using some strategy here.
