Strongest title in the seris

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 8:33 am

Easy enough. Which game is your favorite in the series and why. I personally think that New Vegas is the strongest. It brought over the modernized combat from Fallout 3, but had much stronger writing. Also, the inclusion of weapon mods, factions, improved the system for how people responded to your actions, improved the impact of skills, etc. It just took what was great about Fallout 3, and made it that much stronger of an rpg. Had a closer feel to the original titles than it did to Fallout 3, outside of the combat system annyway.

Fallout 2.

It was worthy to be called Fallout 2, a sequel of Fallout. It had everything Fallout had, only more. Fantastic dialogue, excellent world building, lots of humour, and a great plot. There's tons of things hidden in the game that even after 5 years of playing I'm still finding something new.

I am going with Fallout 1 and New Vegas right now. With F2 holding the third place.

(and a honorable mention goes to Tactics) :fallout:

1st: Fallout because it started it all

2nd: Fallout 2 an awesome game talking up the story of Fallout

3rd: New Vegas, Great writing, many references to the Originals and is alot like the Originals.

4th: Fallout Tactics because I enjoy the game play and story

5th: Fallout 3, I did get alot of game play out of it but its a game trying to be Fallout but failed big time.

I would have to say Brotherhood of Steel, it was a great addition to the series and a great addition to console gaming. The gameplay was original, the graphics were stunning for its time, and it had a great choice of combat system. Very best in the series, no contest. :fallout:

Fallout 2 for me as well. It did everything that you got in FO 1 but it expanded and improved on everything!

1st: Fallout 2 - As has been said, Fallout but bigger; it had more of a free-roaming sense to it, so much to do not even tangentaly related to the main story and no serious time-limit.

2nd: Fallout: New Vegas - Being someone brought to the series by F3 I don't really have a yearning for the original format, I can play either comftably. It brought us great story and writting from the dark ages of the last 4 years.

3rd: Fallout - Hereasy I know but I don't think it's as good as 2, the Enclave just interested me more than the Master, I just don't understand how when planning create the master race, in all the time of his Super Mutant society nobody tried to reproduce and find out that they couldn't.

4th F3: I haven't played the others so I can't rank this below them, a good "game" but a terrible Fallout, serious canonical damage, thanks a lot Beth.

I'm hoping your joking. If your not then yeah probably. I have played that game, and while it is a decent hack and slash game, the fact it has Fallout in the title makes it a demon child that really should have just been put down.

Top 3 (in order):
Fallout 2 (probably just because I played it first and got attached to it the most)
Fallout
Fallout: New Vegas (had it been a bit closer to the originals in its gameplay and RPG mechanics, it could've competed with them)

(still haven't played Tactics, It just keeps getting delayed for some reason...)

And Gabriel... Have played PoS? It truly is once in a lifetime experience because one never wants to touch it again.

Long time ago at a friends place, don't remember much of it's gameplay or story but I remember that I thought to myself "What the hell is this?" and then we changed to Fable.
But who knows, maybe if I play it again I'll see it for the master piece that it is, that it is the most brillinat Fallout game ever, even topping Fallout 1.

I hope none of you took me seriously. I've never played that game, nor do I have any intention to after seeing the lets plays.

I honestly have to vote for Fallout 2. I've only played it within the last 2 weeks and I just absolutely love it.

No Mutants Allowed and Duck And Cover both generally hate PoS and 3. Despite how the two sites generally have an animosity towards each other they are generally sister sites and share many parrallels.

My favorite game in the series would probably have to be Wasteland....eerrr I mean Fallout 2 and 3. I don't understand the dislike for 3 it is an awesome game. I would like to add that I am a huge fan of Wasteland though (mainly the commodore 64 version never finished it for pc) which I played way before any of the games in the Fallout series.

Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role-Playing Game. Why? Because all other games are CoD compared to how Fallout it is.

Of the four Fallout games i played, i would go with this list:

1. FO3: Definitely a good game in my book, solid random encounters, good story, and i liked the Brotherhood in this story a LOT!

2. FO2: Old school, loved the random encounters, the story was strong, and it drew me back every time

2. FO: (yea, it is a tie) Strong story, loved the landscape, the grittiness, felt for the dweller at the end....

close 3. FO:NV It was so predictable playing it every time i started a new character, Loved the weapons and mods, but felt so recycled from FO3, it had it's moments, but the story was not so deep, i will hold off final judgment on true placement until i see all the DLC's, until then, the game is weak but playable.
