1: Bring something EMP-ish.

2: Bring ALL you need. You can't go back, but you will get a sweeeet safehouse where you can stuff your stuff

3: When the think-tanks begin to talk, you might want to take a nap.

4: Visit ullysses hideout - it will explain a lot

5: FEAR THE WRATH OF MOBIUUUUUUUS!

6: EMP ..

7: Bring caps - and lots of them.

I've started it today. I would advise the following:

Travel light. OWB has most things you need- crafting components, weapons, ammo, food. The only things you might not be able to find during early stages of the DLC are scoped weapons and heavy armor.

Keep maximum distance from the things you fight. Many, if not most, enemies in OWB produce a plasma explosion upon death. It won't kill you but it can and will cripple limbs.

Your "enemy detection range" appears to be shorter than usual in OWB, possibly because the map itself is relatively small. Watch out: Lobotomites and Trauma Harnesses carry powerful weapons and can dish out serious damage if they open up on you before you spot them.

Prepare to have your sense of humor seriously tested.

Bring everything even the misc junk, even if it takes 5 fast travel trips to stash you stuff in the nearby trash can and you are dragging 10K+ pounds of gear. You won't regret it...

Wut? Only if you have the meltdown perk: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Meltdown

And robo-scorpions create a small EMP burst when killed.

Get your speech, science, repair, med, and lockpick skills as high as possibe before going so you can unlock the dialogue and different other options that are available but you won't see unless you meet requirements. Also have robot perk as most of the really tough mobs are robot scorpions in the crater. I would also recommend lightstep for the third part of the stealth suit upgrade mission, those proximity mines are a real pain. Also if your Science is high enough you can hack the IFF of the laser beams leaving them functioning but allow you to walk through without triggering an alert. If you can find the right holotapes you will be able to convert appliances, books, dishes, etc into useable resources for creating high end ammo and other useful stuff like weapon repair kits, stimpacks, doc bags, etc.

Unless your main gun is an energy weapon, or chambered in .357 or .44 caliber bring alot more ammo than you think you'll need, cuz you'll probably need it.

When doing the Advanced Sneak Testing in the school. You'll want frag mines for the upstairs part where there's a few nightstalkers. Normally I don't mind Night Stalkers, these were a bit tougher and more hardy. Oh and activate the turret. It'll help a bit.

Take lots of stimpaks.
Take even more stimpaks
Be prepared to run out of stimpaks (especially if a pack of nightstalkers catches you) :swear:

If you aren't using Energy Weapons or Melee Weapons then bring as much ammo as possible for a good weapon that you like to use, AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Don't forget to stock up on healing items, chems, and the like as well, and Doctor Bags on hardcoe.

If you have anything that is good against DT or is anti-robot, that would be good to have along. If you don't have anything don't sweat it, as you will get equipment there that gives an EMP bonus.

I was wishing for some more frag mines and bottlecap mines for the nests of nightstalkers. There are a couple areas swarming with them. I try to set up an ambush area that's mined so that if any get close to my sniping position, their health is down and I have an alert that the little bugger is coming.

If you have a character who cooks, you might bring a few things for early in the DLC. Eventually you will find some tech that will give plant items, but if you're used to finding cactus or broc flowers around, you'll be disappointed.

In general don't be afraid to come well stocked. You will have access to storage early.
