Hi everyone,

I recently completed quest line Discerning the transmundane and my next quest is to complete Elder Knowledge.

When I picked up the elder scroll, nothing happened... the quest is still showing as open but the Elder Scroll is no longer there and it is not in my inventory?! I am panicking as I know this is the main quest line and I have no earlier saves. The only saves I can load are when I was level 2. Not sure why my saves are not working correctly either.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Hi there! Welcome to the forums. Sorry that it has to be under such circumstances.

This is going to sound really stupid, but did you turn on quest markers for Elder Knowledge to see if it's pointing you anywhere? Turn off all other quest markers and use Clairvoyance to see where that directs you.

Edit: Reading up on the UESP, it sounds like you made a mistake:

If you leave the Tower of Mzark without collecting the Elder Scroll and complete Discerning the Transmundane, collecting the scroll later will have no effect and this quest will be blocked.If this happens, the Scroll will not appear in your inventory after collection.

This can be resolved by collecting the Scroll and then spawning it in your inventory with player.additem 2d513 1. You should be able to read the Scroll after using this console code.

Ah that's explains it, the quest has been blocked.

Yes, I do have the quest markers on and the marker is showing where I picked the elder scroll up from. I am playing on Xbox one, am i still able to enter the code you have given me?

Hey there. Sorry about not replying till now, didn't see this.

Unfortunately, that code can't be used on the Xbox One. It can only be used on PCs. If you have any earlier saves, I'd recommend going back to one of them and making sure you complete the quest another way, or look through the mods available and see if there's one that patches this.
