Stuck on "Loading Downloadable Content. Please Wait.&#34

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 4:42 pm

So, just downloaded the newest patch (the one released today), and now can't even get passed the pop-up that shows up when you start the game: "Loading Downloadable Content. Please Wait.".

I have all four pre-order DLCs (Caravan, Classic, Tribal, Merc.) and also Dead Money. I'm also playing the PAL Retail Version. For the record, I have tried deleting the Title Update #4 thing, and that then says that DLC is missing. I have cleared HDD cache, and have no luck. Obviously, I want this patch as it is up to date with fixes, but why can;t I get past this screen? I have also waited for about an hour at one point, and it still just sits there. It hasn't frozen though, as the main menu music is still playing. Any help?

Thanks, Jackson.

Have you tried deleting the previous two patches? Meaning the one that came out today and the one that came out yesterday.

I only started the game again today after about two or three months.

I was up to date until then, and then played for a few hours today. I realized I wasn't signed in to Live - so as I did sign in, I was prompted for the patch. Went ahead, and now I'm in this trouble.

Your best bet is to delete the last patch you downloaded, and play FNV offline untill theres a patch out that fixes this for everyone.

Wouldn't it just be the Vanilla game with no updates, no fixes, incredibly long loading speeds, etc. >_>?

I might just wait until there's a fix - although it seems I'm the only one with the problem. Is there anyway it could be anything to do with having all of the pre-order bonuses (too much DLC or something)?

Eurgh, I dunno. I was just getting up to the action in Primm, too -_-.

Well depends, two or three months should be after the major fix they released.

On the last bit, I honostly can't say, I only have the Classic Pack & DM so.

Yeah, you can go and delete a single patch, incase things like this happen. :vaultboy:

It used to be but, developers figured it'd just be easier on everyone incase a patch they release is bug ridden by some chance.

Uhmmm, you go to Fallout: New Vegas under System Settings -> Hard Drive - > Games. There's file titled something like"Patch 3." Delete it. Should be the same method for todays patch, might be titled Patch 4, I'm not sure yet.

Deleted that, but also cleared system cache - so wouldn't I have any patches now?

Anyway, turns out it only happens with Blood Money is installed. When I delete that, it works. I tried to reinstall it, but after it finished downloading again, the same problem occurred. Is really annoying me now...

Hmm, thats strange, this is the first I've heard about the DLC as a whole causing system instability.

Does it still happen when you re-install Dead Money? Might just be a simple case of missing/corrupted files.

Yeah, I reinstalled it, and having the same problem.

Although, it's temperamental now. I managed to get to the main menu, but still without Dead Money.

Hmm, this is really wierd, though I'm starting to wonder if its because you have all 4 pre order dlcs.

I'm really not too sure. Although, like said, it's working when Dead Money isn't installed. Just to point the obvious, it's only been doing this since latest patch - it was fine to have all five DLCs before.

Hmmm... maybe its one of the pre-order dlc's thats clashing with one of the new patches? Could be possible that the patches corrupted one of them.

I honestly don't know though... I'm grapsing at straws here tryina help. :sadvaultboy:

I'm just gonna try again in the morning or something. Otherwise, I'll either just play without it for now, or go back to no patched New Vegas.

For the record, the Dead Money DLC only affects that place you go to, right? I mean, for example, Broken Steel on F3 added loads of enemies, weapons, items, etc. to the main wasteland. Is that the same case with Dead Money?

Sorry about the delayed reply, had to finally prepare dinner. :sadvaultboy:

And correct, the only area effected would be the small area of the Mojave Wasteland that has the Abandoned BoS Bunker and the Seirra Madre, thats the only thing that'd change.

Nope. No luck.

I also just realized that, I can't play without Dead Money as I wont be able to get certain perks that only come with that DLC. This is ridiculous, to be honest. I can't be the only person in the world with this bug, there must be a simple solution.

Hello GeekyJacko, i'm new at this forum stuff but let me assure you that u are NOT the only one with that problem (and btw it ain't your dlc's malfunctioning), i've tried a lot of different ways to bypass the problem, even with the memory stick but nothing, still stuck on the loading screen; the updates are clashing with the dlc's don't think is the other way around.
