Stuck in a loop of Minute Men Quests

Post » Mon Feb 22, 2016 5:07 am

My Minute Men quests seem to have got stuck in a loop.

I get Sanctuary, Abernathy, Sanctuary, Abernathy, Sanctuary, Abernathy ......... it's on the 11th rotation now and I'm sick of it as the quests are the same few over and over as well.

Anyone got an idea of how I can fix this?

This is my second playthrough and I was going to go Minute Men this time - but if I'm stuck forever in this loop, I may rethink my choice. (Did BoS last time and hated it).

Mine has done that before. I think that was supposed to have been fixed by the recent patch. Is this on a new character or a pre-patch one?

In one of my games Blake Abernathy was killed by gunners. I never had to go back there.

Maybe if you take him out there will be no quest giver.

I think this character was post-patch but not 100% sure.

Then I fear it would be Sanctuary, Sanctuary, Sanctuary, Sanctuary, Sanctuary, Sanctuary, Sanctuary ............. ad infinitum.

And anyway, the one I'd like to kill is Preston - he drives me nuts! SIts around all day, when he's not sleeping, and then has the nerve to remind me to help anyone who asks!

I've got him wearing a bathrobe and slippers, just to make it bearable to have to go near him.

My first playthrough was Minutemen - with everybody happy (except the Institute, heheh) and my second was BoS.
The 'happy' ending was kinda unfulfilling, because it's pretty bland, and Diamond City gets taken over by a buncha cowboys in shabby clothing...
I thought the BoS ending was pretty good! What did you mean, you "hated" it?

Keep in mind the trick to playing the Minutemen ending:
Simply don't go back to Garvey with any completed tasks.
When a bit of time goes by they will auto-complete, and you will remain free.
If looking for something to do, you can then return to Sanctuary and be walloped by two or three new tasks...

Maybe avoid the Minutemen for a while, don't go to Sanctuary, do other stuff for a while?
Allow the Minutemen tasks Garvey has given you to auto-complete and disappear from your journal.
Stay out of that whole north-west corner of the map...
Maybe go down and become a member of the Atom Cats?

Hopefully a bit of time will allow those game cells to reset and catch their breath so to speak.
Besides, if you're going to be a Minuteman you'll need a coupla T-45 rigs in Minutemen paint, right?
Atom Cats rule!

You can move away from Sanctuary or send Preston away, you won`t get any more quest, you still can side with the MM in the end. I wish he gave me quests only when I come to him and ask if I can help with something.

I don`t know about loop, but all his quests repeat very often. One settler was kidnapped 3 times. Supermutants must be in love with him, as they ignore all other settlers and keep kidnapping that guy.

Preston and radio guy will stop giving out quests when you have gathered enough settlements in the name of MM. Maybe ammount of settlers in each of the settlements also counts, because suddenly no more such quests after installed the beta (now the official version). You can test with 8 settlements with 20 settlers in each of them.

Cheers,

Are these the kidnapping rescue missions? If so, have you tried just giving them the ransom money to see what that does?

Is Preston at the Castle? If not, try sending him to "take the Castle" and see what happens. You should only have to get 3 settlements (4 including Sanctuary) to get his option.

Hope this helps you out.
