I'm stuck in a moral dilemma

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 1:21 am

Do I tell the Alik'r guards where that fugitive is, or do I help her out? I just got the "Hero of the People" trophy on my PS3 so I don't really care either way, I just want to do the right thing. I disliked joining the thieves guild and kind of feel like telling the guards would be the right thing. If I do this, what is the outcome?

Spoiler
I don't think the true events are ever revealed, so it's impossible to know which decision is the right one. The Alik'r guards however are jerks, also they have curved swords, curved sword!

Indeed, the Alik'r stuff is pretty BA, but I dislike siding with wanted people....unless they truly are nice people. I just read about it in my guide and there apparently is no right or wrong way to go about it. I guess I'll inform the guards. They seem like nice enough gents.

Yeah that's how I saw it too. My character is a Redguard so he sided with Hammerfell rather than the outlaw.

In a brutal world, nothing is free. Tell the woman you want "special" favors. If she don't give in, turn her in

I'll just repost what said I eariler
Spoiler
The Alik'r are the ones most likely telling the truth. Saadia said she went on the lam due to her speaking out aganist the Thalmor, but Hammerfell was able to kick out the Thalmor. So speaking out against the Thalmor wouldn't cause anyone in Hammerfell to run out of their country.

Spoiler
There is no way to know for sure which side is telling the truth, though I can confirm that the mercenaries hold to their word and do apprehend her alive. Also, the woman's story doesn't hold up. Hammerfell won the war and threw the Thalmor out already.

Matter of preference i reckon.
Since ya start this game as a prisoner yourself (just as in quite a few other RPGs) i consequently tend to side with the fugitives rather than the "authorities".
I'll also free any Thalmor prisoner i randomly encounter on Skyrim's roads.

Even when the "Fugitive" is the one who imprisoned the "Authorities" until the biggest Jailbreak of the era?

Yep, makes no difference to me. Freeing anybody who's being lead to prosecution. Dang i'll even free vampires and beasts from cages.

Be like me.

Hand her over to them, get the reward. Then kill them and get a reward from her. Then kill her too.

Surely you have to hand her over.
Spoiler
Truth be damned! She pulled a blade on you. There are graveyards with fewer bodies than you leave around for far, far less during your heroic adventure. You can even think of it as a good act, after all you let her live...kind of...

Do what you feel is the right thing to do and screw what you think the developers want you to do. Its your game and your adventure.

There is no really right or wrong way to play this game.

Grey choice, although the Alik'r warriors may be a little more easy to believe, given they don't kill Saadia, instead they simply paralise her and take her for a trial (May that be true or not). On the other hand, Saadia is hot.

I sided with the Alik'r since they seemed more believable, and it looks like that was the right thing to do. From your character's perspective, it depends on how much he or she is aware of.

Trueflame, Hopesfire, Her Ebony Scimitar, and other Ebony Scimitars were also curved swords. Skyrim has had curved swords to the left and curved swords to the right for a long time.

Heh, I'm the exact opposite. I always side with the wanted person...unless there's an extremely compelling reason not to. If an NPC is hunted, an outlaw, a fugitive, I'm on their side. They have my instant sympathies.

I am thinking about turning her in. If she did betray the Redgaurds and caused many cities to fall to the Altmer then she needs to be tried in her country for the death and suffering she inflicted.

Otherwise she is the best looking female in Skyrim IMO. Maybe my next character will sympathize with the Thalmor and thus with her.

It was a tough decision indeed, you'll never get the truth. I sided with the Alik'r at heart because they seemed more sensible than a woman waving a knife in your face. Also because they look badass. However, I killed them just so I could get my hands on those curved swords. Does that make me a bad person?

Saadia claimed they were assassins. she was a hammerfell noble

ALik'r guards claim she's a traitor to Hammerfell by sold the city to Thalmor

everybody could be the liar

I sided with Alik'r instead

you want your CURVED. SWORD?? go to solitude, there's a ship owned by pirates to the east of east shipping company (or whatever the shipping industry named. it sounds like british east india shipping company)

I'd kill the guards. In fact I just recently had a random encounter where two of the Alik'r gaurd were hassling a Redguard on the road up to Riften. I let the dialogue play out, talked to the Redguard woman then turned around as the two guard were walking away and slaughtered both of them. mainly for their cool swords and gear. Now my thieves guild char is rocking a Dwarven bow that does 30 damage and two Schimitar swords, one of which was upgraded to "superior".

What's the fascination with curved swords? They're generally less useful than standard straight swords anyway..

In general, the "good path" is usually the harder path. Think Dark/Light Side in SW, or the Path of the Fellowship in LotR.

Since overcoming the ambush in the cave is harder than simply lying to and turning in a defenseless woman...
