Stuck in a rock?

Post » Mon Jan 04, 2010 1:31 am

Hey guys, so the other day i was going about my business and playing fallout new vegas. I recently started a new character because i wasn't interested in my first one. I got to the point in the main quests where i have to go to Nipton and then Novac.. as you may or may not know it directs you through a path near the railroad..

Well, with me being the way i am i decide to do some rock climbing to get a good view of what i'm up against (not to mention the super mutants and jackals up there) anyways, i get to the highest point without hitting a freakin invisible wall, and what do you know... i fall into the ground and i get trapped inside a big rock.. luckly i wasnt far from the nipton fast travel so i easily got back to where i was.

But unfortunatly, its happened another time, i fell into another dang rock.. in the middle of the wasteland and it was pretty far from where i was walking to. This is a problem because it took me a good 5 minutes to get there and i still had another good minute or two to get to my destination.

Ive never had a problem with any bugs glitches, NOTHING. So if someone could please address this issue it'd be greatly appreciated. :goodjob:

Welcome to GameBryo.

This kind of thing could happen in Fallout3 and any of the games made with this engine, especially if you start climbing around on jagged terrain.

svcks, but yet one more reason to save often.

Very true.

Save often means every couple of minutes, before entering a room/building/settlement, in the middle of combat if possible, right after combat, before trying to lockpick, etc. You may want to consider multiple saves as well. Some of us who have been playing computer/console RPG since the 80s will never trust any autosave features, we will religiously save out game every step of the way just like we did in the old Wizardry and Ultima days.
