Ok, I'm stuck trying to install Daggerfall

Post » Mon Jun 03, 2013 8:01 pm

I tried downloading Daggerfall but I messed up somewhere and I have no clue what I'm doing. I use DosBox with Ultima 6 and 7 by dragging the icons for those games over the DosBox icon but I keep getting and error message with Daggerfall.

The truth is I am not very computer illiterate and so far bungled my way into making the two Ultima games work.

Can someone please educate me like a 5 year old and tell me step by step on from downloading Daggerfall all the way to typing in the command prompt in Dosbox? Don't be shy about treating me like a moron by stating the obvious, there is a good chance I didn't notice a step in the first place.

Thanks for any help!

Just try the download link in my signature. It's a self installer, much more stable, and has more quests/mods...

I'm looking at your page now, thanks! I have Dosbox on my laptop, I'm on my desktop right now. Do I need to download Dosbox also?

Holy Smokes! I had forgotten just how addicting this game is! I'm still in the dungeon getting my rear end kicked and having a blast. I forget though, can steel weapons hurts skeletons?

A word for the youngins, you will die, and die a LOT!

I can't remember if Steel hurts skeletons or not... I always start out with the Ebony dagger, and fits my class since I love the sneaky types the most. :)

But I can't really say. You could google the monster info on Daggerfall. :)

Am pretty sure any weapon will hurt skeletons to different degrees otherwise the game would probably tell you its not.

Yes dying or running away to rest and heal up is usually how it goes. DAGGERFALL is probably one of the few games where every fight stirs up some major adrenaline rush as if am fighting for my life. It feels like am reborn when I see that warm sun or cool night air as I step out of that first dungeon not to mention every dungeon in DAGGERFALL.
