Stuck as a vampire? : V

I'm having an issue that may or may not be a glitch. I decided to cure my character of vampirism and underwent the ritual with Falion, however, the character seems to be stuck as a vampire (in that she still looks like a vampire, has a few of the vampiric powers, NPCs comment on her strange appearance, and still has the option to feed). I've been using the Better Vampires mod (the latest version) and I went through the troubleshooting steps and even went so far as to uninstall and reinstall the mod twice, so that doesn't seem to be the problem. I went out and infected myself with the vampire illness and cured it twice to no avail, and not even becoming a werewolf has worked. Is my game broken or is this some crazy glitch that can be fixed beyond having to backtrack through a lot of gameplay? I'd really like to get rid of the glowy eyes of doom.

It seems you have been thorough with your investigation so far and are using LOOT. This is a good thing. While I am not a renowned expert in the tech side, we have very intellectual mod authors that could see something in the LO that others, like myself, may not.

Better Vamps is a heavily scripted mod. The scripts become embedded in the savefile and in most cases these scripts will continue to run after you have uninstalled the mod. Still, after reviewing your OP again, I am starting to think that the ritual quest may not have finished correctly.

Try using the console command...

setstage VC01 200

This will ensure the quest has been completed and your character should be cured of vampirism.

I am curious how one would contract the initial disease when you are already a Vampire. That further suggests to me that the quest didn't finish properly.

I tried your suggestion and it still didn't work, but I managed to ultimately fix the issue through playing around with the console. I tried the "player.setrace" command and managed to reset the character back to the original race. What I think must have happened was that when I finished the Rising Dawn quest, something glitched and the script didn't change from vampire to normal like it should have. I don't know how it happened or why, maybe a script in Better Vamps went haywire? I'd noticed when I brought up showracemenu that my race was still showing up as "PlayerRace" like it should have had I still been a vampire.

Excellent! I'm glad you got it straightened out.

It seems there is a known bug with that quest and it's ending, or lack there of I should say. The http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Rising_at_Dawn#Bugsdescribes it happens as the quest completes while reaching stage 4 vampirism. Pending your Better Vamp settings it could have duplicated the glitch.

Either way, again... I'm glad you are back to normal.
