Stuckon an Underground quest (Walkthrough no help)

Post » Sat Dec 19, 2009 9:39 pm

And somehow a space was deleted from the post title, drat it all. I'm not an illiterate, I promise. :P

Firstly, I'm absolutely loving this mod so far - new goodies to wear, excellent gothy atmosphere, lots of other sweet new content, and Qarl went to all the extra work to make the companions male AND female, so it's not something a lady player has to be bicurious to play. I already have a walkthrough by Qarl for the mod itself which hasn't been able to help my current issue.

SPOILERS FOLLOW.

Specifically, I'm at the point where my female character and Johnny are in Ghostgate with the magic helm and I can see and speak to the goblin beside the Shrine of Pride. Johnny has suggested I beat some info out of him, which is also what the walkthrough says I should do. The problem is that nothing I do - weapon, spell, hand-to-hand - has any slightest effect on the goblin's behavior or hit points. He just ignores me. Is there some specific thing I have to use on him, or is this part of the quest just not possible to do without a very high H2H skill?

Most likely? try
player->sethandtohand 100
, or any other such number that pleases you like 9001.

Sorry, I've not heard of any difficulties _here_. I seem to recall slicing and dicing him into submission. (i.e. he started talking).

Yep, all you need to do, is keep hitting him, he will eventually listen to you.

You don't need to use hand to hand to beat up the guy: he starts talking once his hit points have been sufficiently lowered by any means.

I meet the goblin yesterday, and he didn't lose any health when I hit him with Veloths judgement severel times. But when I instead switched to Skullcrusher I had no trouble hitting him and continuing the quest as I'm supposed to. I'm not sure why it was so (my blunt weapon skill is 142, so that's not the problem).

BUMP!

I am having a problem as well. I found the note and the helmet, but Synda has nothing to say about it!

Are you playing the underground with Huskobars patch? If so, it should solve most of the bugs in The underground (the unpatched version is quite buggy).

I'm not certain. I put in the 3 visual packs and it locked up my system, so I removed them.
I had "UG2phaseC" installed, but I had massive doubling - again I removed it.

I need to reinstall the game and clean it with Wrye after I finish the quests I'm running now.
Thanks!

I don't remember the exact details, but as I remember you have to put the helmet on to trigger a dialogue (and some weird sightings).

BUMP...

I have just performed the Resurrection of Synda, and I can't get her to stop walking around at high speeds! I left the chamber, and she didn't follow. I reloaded and I couldn't make her follow!

***EDIT***

Solved it! To quote Carole Kane in the movie SCROOGED, "Sometimes you have to slap them in the face just to get their attention."
I punched her when she liked me 100%. She stopped spazzing and followed me.

There are some high-level enemies in the Underground, but it's not extremely difficult, so I think you can start at lvl 20 or just above that.
