Heh, Alien Power Cells :D
And about Poker: Have no fear, PC players! Some crafty supermodder will surely implement poker, thanks to Obsidian's Blackjack and other games base!

I hate to be negative, but the AI and gameplay mechanics for Poker, especially popular variations like Texas Hold'em, are quite a bit more complicated than Blackjack. Remember, in blackjack you are only playing against one opponent - the dealer, and the optimal strategies for the game are pretty simple. Vegas rules state that the house dealer must stand on a hard 17. Depending on how many decks of cards Obsidian has programmed the blackjack game to use, card counting may even be possible.

Poker relies more on luck, a knowledge of possible hands, and bluffing and anticipating the possible hands of other players. This isn't something that can just be tacked on top of a Blackjack code base. No, I fear if Obsidian has not added Poker to New Vegas themselves, we are unlikely to ever see it.

Thank you very much :tops: It seems like there are way too many ammo types for Guns though. Definitely going to play even more Energy Weapons than I was planning on.

Poor old Duke. He is a good friend from our past, now doomed to die a slow, indignant death of being continuously embarrassed in public. "It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum" and Duke is out of both gum and asses to kick. Go towards the light, buddy. Go towards the light . . . .

It could mean that, or it COULD mean that their corpses have the ingredients to ammo casings similiar to how if you killed splicers in Bioshock/2 you could find ingredients to build special ammo types and etc. I'd imagine that is how this would work in F:NV. :)

As for the Duster, all I got to see was Primm and Goodsprings. So I didn't see a duster, but it might still be in the game. One can hope.

Edit: The game was absolute awesome sauce. It seemed like a more fleshed out FO3 that was also more true to its roots.

Is Primm just like Evergreen Mills and full of raiders? Or is it an actual town and full of NPCs?

Primm is (I think) an NCR controlled town or camp. But in the demo I had to kill convicts that escaped from prison so it can go either way.

OK thanks.
I hope you don't mind answering yet another question: What is Goodsprings like? Are there plenty of services there and things to do? Are there plenty of NPCs to talk to?
Sorry, I'm just really interested in the towns and settlements. :goodjob:

Mutants have a more greenish hue compared to the FO3 mutants.

Does this mean that they still look the same as those stupid FO3 mutants with that stupid sneer?

I was kinda hoping they'd purge all alien technology and all portable nuclear technology, honestly. :sadvaultboy:

Never! By Fallout 5 all enemies will be robots, TES creatures and aliens and it's DLC's will include Godzilla and an expansion for a Star Trek easter egg. :D

I just hope that the freakin' power cells aren't limited this time and that the weapon isn't "tommy-gosh too powerful."

I don't think that I ever used the Alien Blaster once in FO3. Not because it was too powerful, not because I couldn't find one, not because I didn't have the ammo for it, but because I didn't want to use the ammo I had gathered. I was collecting the stuff. I didn't want to fire it because that would mean using some of my carefully acquired ammo. :(

Since you say you were in hardcoe mode, I have a question about ammo weight. Did you notice how much any of the ammo weighed? If so, how was it displayed--per bullet, total weight for all of an ammo type, or both?

Well, good and bad.
It might balance the game out so that people won't end up with 5000 ammo for a gun (outside of hardcoe Mode) but can also get a little bit annoying if you can't the right kind of ammo and you have to fast-travel to every settlement and trade in order to find just the right ammo for you.

And in the meantime EW players only have to deal with 5 different ammo types :D (That we know of)
(Flamer Fuel, Energy Cell, Electron Charge Package, Microfusion Cell, Alien Power Cell)

Exactly what I was thinking. Why carry 100 different ammo types, especially in hardcoe, when you only need one for some extremely powerful Energy Weapons? J.E. Sawyer mentioned in another thread that plasma weapons were going to be pretty much the most powerful weapons in any given "tier".
