My main character runs around with Boone and ED-E. I now have the option of getting Rex fixed. Actually found a brain for him long before I got the quest. How it is still any good is a mystery. I want to do the quest to get Rex fixed, but I have to drop ED-E. I like ED-E and don't want to loose him for good. Will I be able to get him back after I do Rex's quest? I have searched for an answer, but no luck. Too many companion topics. Thank you.

Yes, you can dismiss than get him back as many time as you want. As long as he is still alive.

Thank you. I read many "Lost ED-E" topics and was worried. I was also worried that once you "fired" them you couldn't get them back. Actually liking companions is new. In FO3 only had Dogmeat and the experience turned me off to companions. Idiot was always running off getting killed or bringing the likes of Deathclaws to me.
