stupid ending

Post » Mon May 24, 2010 12:11 am

i know this has probably been said a million times but why is the ending so stupid? i know it warns you to save it before and everything but if your like me who accidentally saved in the last mission then were all screwed which i think is a stupid feature in a game that takes so much time to build up a character

They'd have to add more dialogue for NPCs, and seeing how it could go one of four ways, that would be a lot of dialogue, a lot of which wouldn't be used on each playthrough. I'm sure they didn't want to waste time and resources on it. Not to mention if you defeat the NCR, then what happens? Or if you killed Caeser's Legion. They would have to change a lot of things in the world. It's already massive enough as it is. Just don't overwrite one of your saves on the last mission. It's pretty simple. My complaints were with the actual ending itself.

Give us reasons why you think it is "stupid." What ending did you go with? Is it just that fact it ends cause if so: :violin:

Guess you'll think things thru better next time. You'll find very little sympathy here as most of us fans DO NOT like it when games try and hold our hand for everything.

This isn't meant to be offensive, just blunt and in no way unclear.

I don't think its an ending, but merely that it ends; (Which I find to be an essential part of any good game ~at all).

You made the mistake so you've made the mistake; you're right, it has been said a million times, so why again?

There are a couple of things I don't like about it:

1. It ends so abruptly. I won't post any spoilers here, but can I get five minutes to bask in my spotlight? :celebration:

2. It makes it kind of hard to get into DLC's when I already know what happens, I like that Broken Steel let you play more ( I realize the 4 ending thing make this impossible and I accept it, just don't like it).

3. It has been said before, the fact that it does end, I want to play more, this game is a blast, since it seems like the DLC's will never come out, let me go for longer.

You need to be blaming yourself, not the game's "stupid" ending. The game very clearly gives you a large dialog box saying: "THIS IS THE POINT OF NO RETURN, TURN BACK IF YOU HAVE UNFINISHED BUSINESS." You have no one to blame but yourself for saving over an old save after the point of no return message. I bet you skipped all the dialogue thus missing the point of no return message, and now have decided to cry a large river.

So you understand the save before this point thing, and you only have this problem because you overwrote your *only* save on accident? I have no sympathy for you. Seriously. It's your own fault. The developers can't be blamed and the ending can't logically be called stupid because you made a mistake.

Aw, c'mon broski, the trick is to keep multiple save files. That way, when you accidentally overwrite one, you'll have another as backup (even if you lose a couple of hours of gameplay). Just consider it "lesson learned" for your next character :)

Also, that dialogue box that you get before the last mission: SUPER SUPER SERIAL (like manbearpig). It does not lie.

That reminds me of this one time on liberty in Tromso, Norway. This one Norwegian beauty said "Hello" to me in a bar once by plopping herself right onto my lap. I love Norway.................

A HUGE text box pops up and asks "are you sure ..."

Biggest text block in game (aside from pipboy stuff)

and "no, let's wait" is the default option, so you can't just quick-click through.

What more do you want? Another huge text screen, saying "no really? Are you sure your sure" in huge font? Followed by "but seriously. This is srs bznss tiem, so if you could fill out the following captcha first...,"

IMO The whole last portion of this game is stupid. I ve stated the reasons why enough times that I don t have say it again.

This is Obsidian s art work. This is they way they felt it should have been done. Popular or not I comend them for sticking to their guns.

That being said the multiple endings are poor in their own right. They do not seem well thought out, and major flawes can be exposed the more you try to get what you really want.

Myself, I d rather have a more liner ending with more choices through out the game that do not directly impact the ending of the game.

As for the ending pop up if one did not see that or did not believe it........too bad.

Follows directions well........

Did you just compare Fallout to the Sims? For shame.
