You won't have to lift your [censored] from the couch (except from maybe opening the door for the mailman) and actually visit a store. On the other hand, this can also be enjoyable so i guess it depends on which mood your in.

Personaly, i haven't decided yet but i imagine i'll pre order it. I have to be absolutely sure that i get the collectors edition, assuming such a thing is released.

No, there's no point to it; everything will be in plentiful supply. The only way I can see myself pre-ordering it is on Amazon a day or two before release, to have it shipped to my house.

gamestop online ships to your home and if they are giving a freebie for a pre order you will get that as well

If they announce that there is some incentive for pre-ordering, such as DLC or something worthwhile, then I'd consider it. But I'd need more than a poster or a plastic coin :wacko:

I on the other hand, would take the poster and coin but wouldn't even bother to download some items or a quest which should have been in the game from the begining.

I like to pre-order for bonuses and making sure I can get the CE and going to midnight releases. Me and my friend like to go to the Applebee's (in the same parking lot as Gamestop) around 10:00 (when happy hour starts) and drink till around 11:30-11:45 then walk over to gamestop and wait in line, then go and play for few hours before hitting the sack.

We have 8 months until the release of Skyrim... and my copy is already pre-ordered AND paid-off in its entirety. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Now I'm just waiting to see if Bethesda releases a Limited/Collectors Edition, and then I'll remove my money from what I pre-ordered and put it towards the special edition. I know that Bethesda really doesn't do the "special editions", it really isn't their "thing", but a guy can hope. lol

But back to topic, the benefit to pre-ordering is that you are guaranteed a copy of the game on release date, plus there is no real waiting in line. You walk into the store, tell the employee that you have a game on pre-order, and walk out with it already in hand while all of the other jokers are looking at you longingly with that gleam of jealousy in their eyes. No messy money exchanged during the furor of release day sales. lol

Wait EB games still exists? The only store they had in my area went out of business years ago. It was kind of cool in that it was just 2 blocks from the comic book store so I could have a nerd buying lap.

As for the question: It varies by whom you preorder from and where you live. If you live in the same country/state/city, they'll ussually deliver it to your door, give or take a few exceptions. If not, they'll post it to the nearest post office (that's why you need to supply your postal/zip code) and the office will then send you a notice that you received a package that you need to come to the post office to pick up. In more rare cases you need to handle things like customs and taxes. TIP: read all the terms on the website of the vendor you're preordering from.

When Oblivion came out, I went to Gamestop a little after they opened, worried there would be a line or something, but there wasn't and they had tons of copies.
