I have the PS3 version. If I get the PC version, can i play with some kind of controller or would i have to use the keyboard?

Yeah, you can. Somehow. I don't know because I svck with controllers, but I've heard of a lot of people that do play computer games with console controllers.

You should be able to use a controller yes.
I don't know if it has to be MS or Xbox one, but I would think so.

Logitech and several other companies make PC controllers that pretty accurately duplicate the PS3 controller.

Out of curiosity, why do you want to play a PC game with a console controller?

It's played the same, but with mouse and keyboard :P

The game is designed to work with the 360 controller on the PC (or the Keyboard/Mouse). The wired one gives the best results, although the wireless one can be made to work.

There are aftermarket controllers, but your results may vary. Not sure what level of success you will have using a PS-3 Emulated controller on this game.

Because not all of us are good with mouse and keyboard games. Fallout was my first real PC Game, and that was this just passed summer. I've been raised on Consoles (NES in particular)

I still have difficulty when I play Fallout more from the controls than I do the game itself

I have the same trouble with console controls tbh.
I started on a PC but never on realtime and or fps style fights, and still prefer a less is more approach to keybindings and key use in general in games.
However the PC can be made as simple or complicated as you like in most games.
I had real trouble getting used to CoD's layout with melee, untill I assigned the knife attack to the side ( thumb ) button on my mouse.
However FO3 - NV is next to ME2 imo the simplest and easy to use key layout on pc.

Fallouts controlS are so easy I make my other games as close as possible to fallouts. I cannot play it for months and still remember exactly what to do. I haven't changed the default controls either.

For FNV, after getting the PS3 version, I finally switched to PC so I could learn to mod and I love it. It has so much more now. I got the Logitech wireless gamepad F710 but my ASUS doesn't recognize that it doesn't use a driver so I got the Logitech F510 wired gamepad and have been using that. It's finally getting over its stiffness and I have a little better control.

I'd love to hear how the "wireless one can be made to work." Please, please share info and/or links and thank you!

I've been using a Nostromo N52 speedpad, although I dont play much in the way of console games I'd imagine it would make good middle ground between keyboard and controller. That, in conjunction with a decent gaming mouse, mouse look just feels so natural imo
