Click left stick. I would call it more of a silly question, not so much a stupid one.

Click down the stick. You must have energy to use. When you click down the stick and sprint you will see that your are using the power module in the bottom right hand corner.

This is absolutely ridiculous...Do you not have a manual with your game...the game options even shows control layout.

Why did you have to come here and make a thread for this...I'm sorry...but I'm baffled.

you can also slide while sprinting by pressing B (xbox 360) and melee while sliding (you should know what melee is)
just if you didnt know
