Stutter when moving (not FPS Issue)

Post » Thu May 24, 2012 2:03 pm

Heyy,

Whenever I stand still, Its fine, I can rotate, No stuttering issues and the FPS is between 40-60 with no problems. The problem seems to occur when I move, it's almost like its stuttering or lag, the game will micro pause for a millisecond and jump forwards, but yet my FPS isn't dropping, and often occurs even when I'm at 60fps. Is this a common problem and is there a fix for it?
Sorry if it doesn't make much sense but I had trouble trying to explain it.

I play the game at Ultra, No AA, 16x AF and FXAA Enabled.

Thanks

More than likely it's the hard drive playing catch-up with moving data to memory. I had similar issues with FO3. Take a look at your HD Virtual Memory/ Cache settings. Not sure what operating system you're running so you'll want to google that for recommendations based on your HD size and memory allocations. Also, start task manager, leave it running in the background and fire up TESV and play for a couple minutes. Then exit TESV and check the utilization graphs for each major attributes (cpu, memory usage, etc.) If your running WIN7, then you can also take a look at HD I/O which might provide some additional information regarding where the bottleneck is.

So I took a look at what you said, Actually going onto a very informative website (http://sourcedaddy.com/windows-7/part-1-virtual-memory-settings.html - For those interested or with a similar issue) and it has reduced the stuttering to a manageable level, and improved performance greatly, Thank you for bringing it to attention Paul.

Notching up the turn sensitivity in the settings seemed to help me a bit.

I use the ENB mod and had this happen today after updating to 1.2
I fixed it by setting 'FixGraphics=False' in the ENB ini file.
Maybe this will help you?
