Stuttering, hiccups, container lag.

Hi!

I have a problem with my Morrowind install - I often get stuttering (move one meter, lag, move, lag, move, lag etc) and there's something wrong with opening containers (and barter menu as well), cause it takes a while fr the menu to pop-up after pressing Space (1.5-2 seconds, measuring by eye). I have encountered my problems with my previous install, but they intensified after installing Morrowind Overhaul. But, still, they sometimes happen on the old install, that why I'm posting here, not in MGSO thread.

My load order:

Are you using the Graphics Extender? I remember that on my old PC that could barely handle it, I'd get the 'container lag' with MGE on.

I did some testing just yesterday and realized that Graphic Herbalism, which is part of Morrowind Overhaul, is costing me 10-20 fps depending on the number of herb containers nearby. Herbalism for Purists has nowhere near the performance impact. The problem is that it's not really safe to remove Graphic Herbalism from a saved game because disabled herbs will stay disabled forever. Someone would have to make a mod to migrate from one herbalism mod to the other.

I use MGE on both installs - rev 178 on "old" and rev 186 on MGSO. Looks like disabling MGE's AA and AF on the new install fixed it, but the fun part is that I use same MGE setting on both installs, so maybe it's caused bu newer MGE revision? I'll try with rev 178.

I have similar problems, but when I migrated to new MGE XE beta, it perished.

That's probably a conflict between your pc and the newer revision of mge, but I'm not sure. Try to switch to rev 178. But I suggest you to wait the patch 1.2, there were some bugs in the MGSOO Program.
Thanks for reporting the issue.
Oh and try to open the Morrowind.ini and set Max FPS=240 to Max FPS=60, that can help the situation in the menus.

WOW, are you serious? Graphic Herbalism has no impact in my configuration. Hmm, anyway thanks for the report. I'll do some testing on other PCs here. If what you're saying is true, MGSO will switch to Herbalism for Purists.

Thanks for the reports. If you have other issues please ask :)

I'm quite surprised to hear that as well. But in any case, it should be safe to replace Graphic Herbalism with Herbalism for Purists (or vice versa), they work the same way, so the new mod will re-enable any disabled plants.

P.S. Hi, just passing through. :)
