Loved the daedric and orcish stuff in Morrowind. But the dwemer looked better in oblivion.

I would like a new design that take inspiration from MW and OB, maybe even different styles within one type of armor(like the daedric faces in MW)

I always thought Deadric looked a little silly.

Especially in Oblivion when everyone had it. Do they all go shopping at “The Bad Guy Outlet” or something?

My bad guys usually look like good guys, and if they don’t, they where something purely functional, because they don’t care what you think.

The more I think about it middle eastern daedric armour seem like an awesome idea, or maybe Nordic style would be the most obvious one for Bethesda to use.

Regarding the Dunmer armours: I doubt there will be much of typical Morrowind-style armours since
  • Netch is unique to Morrowind and can't be made anywhere else (because of the Bully and Betty Netches)
  • Indoril armour is unique to House Indoril and isn't worn by anyone else.
  • Chitin might exist, but it's a typical Ashlander armour, so I doubt it will be in the game.
  • Bonemould is my favourite, but since I doubt they will bring back Medium armour I don't think they will include this either. (There's already plenty of heavy armour types)

Drough armour might be implemented, though, since they existed in Cyrodiil and might also exist in Skyrim. I think it was a shame they didn't have Dreugh armour in Oblivion, considering there where Land Dreughs.

I think the ancient mid/near east is an untapped source for armor designs in general.

Babylonian inspired designs would be perfect for the http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4001/4506034494_8d63b9a74b_b.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.flickriver.com/photos/cool-art/4506034494/&usg=__vWLYYoQrjyovI6D6gC38kZ5spc4=&h=1024&w=783&sz=513&hl=en&start=293&sig2=IdRtmC4tWMaOR_TMqZ9_lg&zoom=1&tbnid=qANp3rPxJQ5WIM:&tbnh=122&tbnw=118&ei=2tI6TfzdHIfCsAOFu7WjAw&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dancient%2Bmiddle%2Beastern%2Barmor%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26rlz%3D1R2ADRA_enUS412%26biw%3D1007%26bih%3D555%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=265&oei=49E6TfCiN4zCsAOx-5WJAw&esq=8&page=18&ndsp=17&ved=1t:429,r:16,s:293&tx=79&ty=75

Prefer Morrowind's designs, although I think more/something different could be done w/glass.

Also would love to see Bonemould back - hopefully they're scrapping armor types but giving them each advantage/disadvantages so "medium armor" shouldn't be an issue.

I want the armour for Skyrim to be unique to Skyrim instead of copying the design from a previous game.

Agreed, something unique. Considering the climate I would expect a few "fur, scale, and leather styles". But no crazy spikes, think of the mounts...

Oblivion orcish is not western at all... it is more like mongolian, which is asian: http://www.trumanstudio.citymax.com/i/1aGhengisKhan400.jpg

The samurai style armor in Oblivion is the Blade's armor, and I find Oblivion's orcish very good: not very stylish, but great on an orc.

The daedra armor in Oblivion isn't western, either, and I find it quite better than Morrowind's one, more akin to a creature from another plane than a "dark samurai" armor.

Not everything was better in Morrowind, you know?

I think the ancient mid/near east is an untapped source for armor designs in general.

If you ask me, I would say that dwemer are very based in the babylonian culture, armors included... not the Morrowind one, but Oblivion's.

In the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:MW-art-Dwemer-Concept.jpg, they look pretty babylonian, don't they?
