Just wondering if anyone knows when they will offer the subscription deals?

Also, heres hoping they release some kind of autheticator (like EQ/WOW/SWTOR/FFXIV) to add an extra layer of security on your account. (would have been a good "themed" includsion in the Imperial Edition physical to have one that you push the button to get the number).

Me too. I own every single Elderscrolls title (minus the mobile versions) and the thought of owning the shell of a game that I have to pay monthly to play makes me feel like the world of Tamriel doesn't really belong to me or anyone anymore. It feels really disconnected with what the elderscrolls series is all about.
I'd want a lifetime subscription fee just so I know that I can pick this game up and play it whenever I want without being charged like i'm going to an amusemant park.

The only negative I have ever come across with the lifetime subscriptions, is that EVERY game that has offered one, has, eventually, gone Free-to-play - so I am in two minds (I want one so I only have to pay once, but I dont want the inclusion of one as a portent of doom for the inevitable free-to-play conversion!)

Games that offer life time passes last longer as sub based than those that dont.
Every game from here on out will eventually go free to play. That is the name of the game now. Milk fanbois for subs as long as you can then alienate them and go full on cash shop and get all the money from people 'too smart' to sub to a 'bad' game.

They already said that they will be offering discounts for that but didn't specify the length of the subscriptions.
On authenticators, it looks like no authenticator. They are going with their computer id system that is like Yahoo's. That says a lot abou how much security they think ESO requires. Hopefully, ESO will join the ranks of the modern mmo and have something like Google authenticator.

I really wouldn't say that. STO and CO both went ftp very quickly despite the lifetime sub. The only thing that detirmines how long a game will last with a sub model is the quality and quantity of content.

You do realize that Authenticators are one time passwords right that are just sent to or generated by the token. ZOS uses a one time password system and just sends it to your email when a computer that is not your original computer tries to log on and it cannot log in without the password sent to your email.
