..such things as chopping wood, cooking, and running a sawmi

Post » Mon Oct 25, 2010 4:47 am

Great news on the crafting front for Skyrim. I long to spend hours in front of a wood burning stove, baking cakes for my fellow residents of Frangorn (the name of my city in Skyrim). Maybe it won't be the official name, as recorded in the books of ElderSeed, but in my heart it will always be Frangorn.
My question is- will I have to gather ingredients to cook? Where will I get the ginger bane for the unleavened bread? Or the horn swallow for Hunch's icing? Will I have to venture to Riverwood's outskirts to collect Rainberries?

Skyrim comes out this year...

And you missed the point ;)

I'm also really looking forward to this, playing as a real hunter and woodsland survivalist could be really great in skyrim. While wood cutting could get boring after a while if you do it too much, it would be great to cut wood from fallen trees in the wilderness and then cook the dear meet I hunted, adding potatoes, carrots and garlic, eaten with some bread and washed down with crystal clean and ice cold glacier water. Ah.

Am I paranoid if I'm thinking that it will be great to do stuff like that in a video game? :o

Immersion is always a good thing, and it would be nice if gathering parts included basics like mining, chopping wood, cooking, etc. If not, mods can always add the missing parts (Seeing as they've already confirmed the creation kit).

It'll be definitely great :) Although I don't favor hunting too much...oh, well, that's what markets are for :)

He simply points at his prey and they drop dead. What do you think Techo Viking is doing in Griffmeister's Avatar, why didn't we see that guy who harassed that girl again? The point! :shocking:

The point is greater than any dragon shout. But Techno Viking wants to slaughter innocent animals in a humane way, and thus the dance is used.

Wildcrafting, alchemy, hunting, making fur and leather armor from skins, cooking my own food, and a touch of that garlic you mentioned ground with my mortar and pestle, and cooked into my venison.

Maybe even a little fishin' and choppin' my own wood for my camp...a little honeywine, and then possibly a little dancing close to the fire...and then "To sleep, perchance to dream - ..."

Oh, yes, and then there is that adventuring and questing stuff, lol.

Oh, well, dreaming now, I guess.

Well, it's "To be, or not to be."

Looking forward to 11-11-11, ever so much.

"Well there is nothing left to bard about. The candle light has gone from sight. Until this day brings wrath from the sky, I'll be happy to chop wood by and by." I'm pretty sure by this quote that we will be able to chop wood and use it as inventory....sweet quote though, don't know if an NPC actually sings it in front of Foglorn tavern? The lore in this game reminds me of Double Dragon for the nes.

fishing would be awesome. i would probably spend a whole day doing that. especially if i had a six pack of ale. A small fishing game worked into skyrim wouldnt take up much room at all. a little shack to buy a pole, some bait, hooks, sinkers, bobbers, etc.

might have to learn how to mod if it isnt in the game.
