Sudden realization of great truth

For a while now i have been an insane pc fanboy, and well im over it. consoles are the future of the video game industry which is dissapointing but not nessacerly bad. pcs are great and all but they can be expensive and hard to maintain. PC is the most innovative market ive ever seen, with mods like ye olde counter strike that would not be possible on console. but consoles have brought gaming to the masses. they may have a lack of innovation, but not everyone can afford and maintaing gaming pc and some great titles have come up for it like killzone, so when a game is made for all platforms dont complain about demos or stupid small things and let the masses enjoy great games like Crysis 2

So, you expect AMD/Nvidia to release 1 GPU every console generation?
Lol.

Console games tend to be less sophisticated and appeal to casual gamers. I only have to think of my 2 favourite games of the last few years, Crysis & BF2142, these games were too big in scope to be released on the consoles. The next generation of consoles may help that situation by raising the bar again but I think proper gamers will always be drawn to the PC. Customization, modding, hardware upgrading - these are things that the console doesn't have.

Plus the way I see it, I need a PC. My PC is the central hub of my digital life, the only real component that is specific to gaming is the GFX card. A GTX460 - just over a hundred quid.

PC gaming is growing all the time (and has been since 1985) and consoles are becoming PC's. It's consoles that are dying.

Consoles have no other useful function than to trap gamers where the games svck, so they can focus on vacuuming up the money. I mean Crysis 1 is still far beyond anything the consoles have, and because of moddability and config editing, PC games will ALWAYS be ahead. At least until unlimited detail is complete. :P Buy a cheap computer with a big case, and then get a ATI Radeon HD card like a 5870 or something, and plop that in, get yourself up to 4-8GB of RAM, and make sure your processor is at least dual-core and 2.0+GHz. In the end considering all the uses of a computer, the console is just a distraction, and a waste of money.
