Suddenly no Sound and Crossfire issue

Post » Sun Nov 21, 2010 1:57 pm

Hi there,

When I am in the game all of the sudden the sound stops.... the game runs fine but no sound until I restart the game. I've got a Aus P6X58D Premium motherboard with onboard soundcard, latest drivers installed.
Who can help me out here?

Another question is why Crysis2 can't work with Crossfire.
When I put on crossfire over my two ATi cards the sunlight in the game starts ' flickering' very bad. When I turn off V-Sync it is even worse.... When I put off Crossfire in ATI Catalist it works fine !
grapic cards: two ATI Radeon HD 5850 1gb DDR 5 cards.
Is this a know issue with ATI ? cause a friend of mine has two Nvidia cards in SLI and it all works well....
Ofcourse I have latest drivers, latest directx etc. installed.

Cheers,

Olak

crossfire is known, and like everything else crytek doesn't seem to care.

as for the sound, idk... hadn't heard that one yet.

Crossfire issue, look at this third party program and works for me with CF: http://www.incrysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=33008

Or add this into system.cfg (change what ever you want in there);

sys_spec_shading=2
sys_spec_gameeffects=2
sys_spec_objectdetail=2
sys_spec_particles=2
sys_spec_physics=2
sys_spec_postprocessing=3
sys_spec_shadows=2
sys_spec_sound=3
sys_spec_texture=2
sys_spec_water=3
g_skipIntro=1
cl_fov=75
pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov=75
i_mouse_accel=0
i_mouse_accel_max=45
i_mouse_smooth=0
r_motionblur=1
g_radialBlur=1
cl_zoomToggle=1
r_UseEdgeAA=2
r_TexMaxAnisotropy=12
r_PostMSAA=2
cl_crouchtoggle=1
r_ColorGrading=1
r_SSAO=1
r_VSync=0
e_shadows=1
g_enableInitialLoginScreen=1
r_HDRBloomMul=0,5
r_HDRBrightLevel=0,5
r_MultiGPU=1
g_useHitSoundFeedback=1
sys_MaxFps=120
r_DrawNearFoV=75

You can find system.cfg in your Crysis 2 folder.

GREAT !!!!!!!!

Adding those lines to my system.cfg did the trick !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No more flickering with Crossfire !!! Thx.!

Only issue left now is the sounds.... after 10 minutes or so the whole sound is gone...........

but I ordered a new sound card, XiFi Platinum so when that thing is build in it should work fine I suppose.
