Suggestion for Keeping better track of Quests

Post » Tue Aug 27, 2013 2:11 pm

I have noticed that the main quests in the main quest tab in Skyrim for example have a decent amount of description. this helps a lot when i have been away from the game for a few months and return only to have forgotten what i was doing last. thankyou for that. however i have also noticed there is nearly no description in the misc quest tab. please fix this in future games.

also i have noticed after many characters and hundreds of game hours and periods of playing followed by months of non-playing followed by playing the game again, that its very easy to get side tracked and lsot in the mountain of quests that get piled on the character every time he goes anywhere. its good to have so many quests. that isnt the problem at all. but it would be nice to have a different way the game handles the long list of quests piling up. for example i have noticed that i will be out roaming around treying to do one quest im focused on and by talking to people accidently pile on 2 or more quests, all of which are active at the same time. by that i mean that if i happen to have the item for that quest on me or happen to have accidentally already done whatever they want me to do while in the process of completing the quest i was focusing on and then happen to travel by the secondary quest npcs again the next stage of those secondary quests will initiate whether i wanted to focus on them at the time or not...i often lose myself in storylines for quests this way.

perhaps for future games and for any modders out there willing to experiment on this, perhaps try a new system where the player has to actively check the quest they want to focus on as the player can do now in game but allow them the chance to check up to a certain number of quests at a time and all other quests are on complete and total hold until the player chooses to focus on them. that means no accidentally initializing of further quest stages for those quests just by talkin to someone while holding a quest item that was previously looted in the process of doin something else. that doesnt mean the player cant still loot that item while focusing on the other quest it just wont triugger the next stage for that secondary quest till the player checks the box for it. i would however like to see a notice or alert flash on the screen somehow to alert the player about the option to open and continue on that secondary questline when they happen to run across it.

There is a thread for all discussion and suggestions for future TES games: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1470590-official-beyond-skyrim-tes-vi-26/
Use that one, Thanks
