I find it a bit irritating that I am unable to rename equipment using as many characters as equipment already in the game has. Anyone else with me on this one?

Yes, I find it quite irritating as well. I've tried so many times to work around it, but it just seems that long names are only available for customized pieces by default (when you make something like a deep pocketed shadowed combat armor right arm).
