This way in crowded situations you can effectively help/hinder your target without worrying about friendly-fire.
The problems I'm having at the moments are situations like:
- Trying to heal a companion who, is being blocked by enemies. This is one of those "From bad to worse" scenarios.
- Attempting to focus down a serious threat while other NPCs (Enemies and allies alike) intercept my spells causing me to waste precious magicka. (Ironically this threat has no trouble connecting it's rather threatening spells on me)
- Wanting to use Area of Effect spells in larger scale fights (Like the ones associated with the Imperial/Stormcloak Fort battles) while allies are present.
- Adding a bit more realism to the game of Tag played with children.
Various spells could be affected under the influence of Tag like so:
- Channeled spells would directly effect your tagged target reguardless of any NPC that might otherwise generously accept them. (So long as you were in range and at least generally facing your target)
- Charged burst spells would simply pass through unattuned NPCs and impact on the Tagged target.
- Area of Effect spells would only affect either friendly or hostile NPCs based on which is tagged.
I imagine Bethesda doesn't really care, but want to try to get some attention on it reguardless. Maybe we can get a modder to take this on as a project when CK comes out if there is enough interest.
Also I apologize for my inability to keep the Poll legit. D:
