It doesn't seem fair or balanced that you can hide behind a shield and then one shot kill someone who stumbles upon you from the front. Moreover, all thrown objects have this nice tendency of hitting you even when they were actually 2 feet to your left.
I suggest that thrown objects knock you to the ground and do some damage. To good players this should still mean a kill by taking advantage of the downed player. However, it eliminates the unbalanced and unrealistic instant kill from all thrown objects.
