suggestions for starting a new char

Post » Mon Dec 19, 2011 2:57 pm

so i made my spellbreaker in heavy armor char (breton, sword and board) and hes a great zerg char. but i always play at least one stealthy char in tes games, and was looking for suggestions as far as perks, armor, weapons, races, skills to spec into etc.

heres my thoughts so far. argonians and khajits are badass. apparently there is a armor cap, what is it and...if i go light armor spec in smithing what armors will i be able to wear adn maintain said cap? i like being able to wear what looks cool without sacraficing effectiveness.

what spells...if any should i be using?

my initial thoughts are basically stealth, bow, smithing (light armor),

i dont need to be min/maxed to highest effectiveness but i do love at least having one dagger for assassinations, as for weapons...i try to hold off on picking one of the three weapon specs till late in the game so i dont feel pigeonholed into a specific weapon.

A fun class to try is a illusion conjure assassin.
Silent Casting illusion perk
Bound Bow
Sneak

- Cast frenzy.
- Reanimate a killed enemy.
- Bombard with infinite daedric arrows.
- Summon when in danger or cast invisibility.

interesting concept, how long does it take to summon the bow? guess it would save on weight being able to summon weapons lol

i don't role play to the extent as others do, but i do kinda role play as a hunter type character
Bows are awsome
sneak is really nice
I also use light armor, just because
or melee I would use 2 daggers, or i would use a sword+heal/flame
unlike most people i roleplay as a GOD for the most part, and learn many many skills so having magic doesnt break it for me, but damn hunting was a blast in the game.

About 2 seconds, but you will usually be the one to spot the enemy first with decent sneak. Silent Casting is quite essential, you have muffle and invisibility to aid sneaking. A dual cast perked bound bow will last over 4 minutes.

honestly i still dont know, not because i dont think it a cool concept, but going the entire game with the same bow just feels...boring. i enjoy replacing gear.

Well, the bow is only a part of the playstyle, I mix it up with frenzy and reanimate, you can use bound sword/battleaxe for melee if needed. Using the bow is also a bit more active than using a normal bow, you can't cast other spells when holding the bow so you need to think ahead. And summoning your weapon is more fun than drawing one imo, less tedious with arrows.

But its just a suggesion, i had a lot of fun playing this character to level 55

if you are planning to play a pure melee assassin i suggest you to stay away from the main quest at all.

i played a illusion and stealth only char with a dagger. it is SO op. i mean... i just ran undetected through every dungeon and one-hit killed everything from boss to bandit... but dragons were like... gods. they spit on me while destroying the whole town around me, because i never got to stealth attack them.

I find using a bow with stealth a lot more enjoyable, makes dragons easier and you dont instakill everything in the game.
