I want it to be like morrowinds. I think boots, glvoes and pauldrons should come in pairs but still be seperate armor peices rather than that dumb 'full suit' idea from fallout or having tha pauldrons come with the armor
Morrowind's boots weren't seperate pieces, though, they came in pairs that could not be seperated, other than that, though, Morrowind's gloves and gauntlets and pauldrons were all seperate items and came in left and right. And I hope to see this again in Skyrim. Not because Morrowind did it, but because it means more customization, and I'm not saying Bethesda has to do what Morrowind did, if Skyrim can have even more customization in armor and clothing, I won't complain, so long as it doesn't turn into a horribly balanced mess, and while Morrowind's apparel customization had some balance issues, I think those can be fixed without removing options for the player. At least in the case of gloves and pauldrons, there's no way Bethesda could balance wearing pants and shirts under armor without screwing over unarmored players, I think, but wearing robes over armor could be alright as long as you can do it with shirts and pants. I could live with Oblivion's level of customization, though I'd rather have my left and right pauldrons and gauntlets back, but I'd be VERY unhappy if we got Fallout 3's system. For Fallout, it could be justified by the fact that past games in the series also had one piece suits, but the Elder Scrolls has no such excuses.
people dont want to admit it but they want a Morrowind 2, its what started them on the series and they think it is the absolute best because of it. I know that Morrowind was a good game, but everything is best the first time.
I may not speak for everyone here, but that's not what I want at all, I don't want Skyrim to be Morrowind 2, I just want it to be the best game it can possibly be. There are some things that Morrowind did well which I think could benefit Skyrim as well, but there are also aspects of Morrowind which I would NOT want to see in Skyrim, whether because I feel Skyrim could do them better, or because they worked well for Morrowind, but wouldn't be appropriate for Skyrim.
Noting that people want aspects or parts of things that were present in previous titles, and then morphing that into "they want [Insert-Game-Title] 2" is over-generalizing their positions. Was Oblivion a Morrowind 2 because it had birthsigns? If I wanted blocking based on player input in Skyrim, would I then want Skyrim to be Oblivion 2?
Indeed, just because we say "They should do what [Insert past game title here] did doesn't mean we want Skyrim to be exactly like that game, it may just be that we happen to think that game did something pretty well, so we use it as an example of what we want to see in Skyrim.
Well, that's sad news for all of us, whether we started with Morrowind, Oblivion, Daggerfall, or Arena, as it appears that the only people who will enjoy Skyrim to its fullest potential are those for whom it will be their 1st Elder Scrolls game.
I can't agree there. I've played Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion, and started with Morrowind, but I still fully expect to enjoy Skyrim, as I did with Oblivion and Daggerfall, despite having started with Morrowind, it will be a different experience, certainly, but I don't see that as a bad thing, if I want to play Morrowind, I'll play Morrowind, the reason I am looking forward to Skyrim is because I WANT a different experience. If anything, the fact that Bethesda delivers a different experience with each Elder Scrolls game helps to ensure that no matter how many I play, I can srill enjoy them where I might eventually get bored with aq series if each new sequel was basically the same thing.
