Sultericdrums -

First I want to thank you for your amazing mods. I've played Viconia Parts I and III and Stoker Part I. Now I'm in The Vampire Hunter. Your companions are the best I've ever seen. The plots are immersive and compelling, the voice acting is great, and the dialog gives the characters real depth. Stoker is my favorite - no insult intended to Viconia! :) But as a female, I appreciate an outstanding male companion.

I've had an odd thing happen in the Underdark that has started to interfere with the quest. When I rescued the slave from the Mindslayer, every time I got near the Mindslayer, my character started casting spells like crazy (mostly invisibility on self and "sleepify bed" on the Mindslayer!). I thought that was something the Mindslayer was doing to my character, so I just backed away and sniped at the Mindslayer with arrows until I killed it. (By the way, is it supposed to look like a dark elf male? I was expecting something else.)

Then when I got to Middledark and found the dwarf (Oakenshield?) in the tunnels, the same crazy spell casting happened when I got near him. When I activated him, he just said "I HAVE NO GREETING." I read through the forum threads and decided to advance the quest. The quest stage was 122 at that point; I was able to advance it so that we got the Book of Lolth. We reached Veintaur (gorgeous city!), and there are two more dwarves that I have to interact with (one in the main area and another who is the smith who may have the book), and both look exactly like Oakenshield and act exactly the same way - crazy spell casting and no greeting. I can interact with everyone else fine. I tried looking in the CS, but I'm not sure what I should do. I don't want to miss parts of the story or screw things up more than they are.

I use BOSS to set my load order, and I tried moving Stoker to the very end. I've installed the v07 patch. I'm not running Stoker chapter I. I use OBMM and Wrye Bash. I didn't run into any major problems with Viconia I and III (at least after you patched the problem with the female PC). Do you have any ideas what could be happening? Thanks for any help you can give!

I may drop off at least one of the other projects. I simply don't have the time and it's not fair to them. But anyway, the issue of including Saerileth inside the merge is again, voicing. The original voicing would have to be completely redone. The interaction between them would be rather easy actually. I'll have to play with it and see how it works.

The voicing for the first mod is coming out amazing. I've also added and changed a few things now that I can do so.


I know you were working on trying to add in conversation files for Viconia. Will you do that by following the normal conversation pattern so that she can freely interact with other npcs?

I'm wondering as I'm working on an upgrade of my companion Vilja, and I'm adding in more extended interactivity with companions and other npcs. It works well with companions like CM partners and unique companions that are using standard voices. But as you know, Stoker, Saerlith and Viconia currently don't have the conversation files needed for them to respond correctly when Vilja try to engage them in her little chats, so the interaction gets a bit limited. I have thought of some workarounds, but if Viconia will have conversation files matching the normal setup, this won't be needed for her.

Upcoming Mods:

Viconia DeVir ? The Underdark Saga Part IV. This will involve Drizz't Do'Urden and his friends on a truly epic quest through the Underdark.

MERP ? The Lord of the Rings main quest. Play as Frodo or as an 10th member of the Fellowship. This will take full advantage of the amazing MERP work and implement the story we all know and love into Oblivion.


WOW .. I cannot wait!!

okay, LOTR sounds amazing .. especially how you can play as 10th member instead of Frodo.

but I seriously am more excited about The Underdark Saga Part IV!! Viconia continuesss!! I hope you complete this one first!! =D

I'm currently playing the first chapter of Viconia (don't know how will she behave in III yet). When I tell her to wait for me, she does, but if I leave the town and then come back or reload a save, she runs to find me and continues to follow.

Also she flashes her chest whenever I finish checking her inventory, even if I don't add/remove anything. Not that I personally mind :celebration:, but sometimes I'm not alone in my room when playing. My significant other may get jealous enough without that little bit already. :laugh:

I hope you don't! I'm sure it is frustrating and a lot of work to condense the book, but hopefully you will enjoy implementing the quest in the CS more. Also we are really making nice progress at the moment ... and if there might be any issues, questions or you need help just write a message to Jnor or me.

hmm .. I suppose it will be sad if you drop out of MERP project since you make quality mods!

Is it? I didn't notice it while playing with Vilija nor Neeshka, and Vilja is in my game for about a month.

It appears to be an issue with her AI resetting after each conversation. If it's not done she sometimes goes off on her own.

On another note I have some bad news. The revoicing of Part I is going to be delayed until at least July. I'm not quite sure what I want to do at this point. I really don't want to release it incomplete.

Is this the merged viconia you're refering to? I personally would love an incomplete version and just update it with your updates as you can release them. Just a thought.

If the mod is complete as far as functionality goes, and is only lacking the voicing, I think most people would be happy to use it as is, and upgrade to the voicing at a later date. But in the end if you don't feel comfortable doing that, that's fine!

Quick question for you: if my character provides one of your companions with a potion containing only negative effects, such as paralysis, will he/she use it on their primary weapon, or will it simply stay in their inventory?

I might be mildly retarded, but in The Vampire Hunter, I get down the passageway at the start of the Underdark, go through the quick-load door thing (where you go up those little stone stairs an a dikewad of spiders and crap attack you), and I don't see either;

1. The guy from the Drow house who talked to me
2. A marked passage that he said he would have for me.

Am I doing something wrong? I ended up wandering around the Underdark for an hour or so and just got retardedly lost (is there a way to make the Underdark have its own world map?, even if it's another addon someone has made or something), so any help would be appreciated :)

Other than that, it's a great mod :)

Oh, actually, for the first "Viconia DeVir ? Banished, The Underdark Saga Part I" do you actually go to Underdark, or is the entry saying 'I own her, etc etc" the last part? And will I still have my current progress in our relationship with her (I chose romance) when I untick it and switch on Part III?

After you enter through that transition, yes there are two spiders and a drow who are fighting each other, however it wasn't until I released v1.1 that I caught this. Now that I'm playing the mod myself and knowing it better than anyone, I can find bugs quicker that testers miss. That bug, is fixed but isn't released yet. It will be fixed in Shadows of Old Shanatar. All that I can do now is provide a hotpatch, but I'm testing many things so it won't be quick to have that for V1.1. Furthermore, TRoN, v 1.1 is finished. I will only provide one more hotpatch to fix things I find or is reported to me. This is because once Shadows of Old Shanatar, "Underdark v 2.0" is released it will will no longer be compatible with the v 1.1 - - unless I convert the main cells that I'm converting to other cells. The reason for the changes is that Underdark is being converted to a Worldspace to support: Fast Travel, Maps, Flying Mounts (to ceiling height of course), Swaying Trees and Grass texturing - - even though it will be inclosed within a cavern.
For the quest stages... I know nothing :D

Hi Sultericdrums!
I love playing with Viconia and Stalker (both chapter one), and I was wondering if there was any possibility for them to interact when they both follow the player. Stoker could make a joke and she could sigh or say that all humans are fools, something like that. I've heart that the Heart of the Dead mod (I've not played it) had such a feature for the companions it provided. It would greatly add immersion to me if my two favorite companions could stop ignoring each others.
BTW, I'm looking forward the animations concerning the flirt pack, I'm sure it'll be great! Thank you for all your hard work and for sharing it!

I'm sorry, I'm still a little confused - should I have a quest marker, or someone there to point me on my way? And what exactly is the marking the Drow said he would place for me so I could go meet the head of his house?
