Sultericdrums Mods - Viconia, Saerileth, ,Stoker and more

Post » Mon Jul 26, 2010 6:35 am

I might be mildly retarded, but in The Vampire Hunter, I get down the passageway at the start of the Underdark, go through the quick-load door thing (where you go up those little stone stairs an a dikewad of spiders and crap attack you), and I don't see either;

1. The guy from the Drow house who talked to me
2. A marked passage that he said he would have for me.

Am I doing something wrong? I ended up wandering around the Underdark for an hour or so and just got retardedly lost (is there a way to make the Underdark have its own world map?, even if it's another addon someone has made or something), so any help would be appreciated :)

Other than that, it's a great mod :)

Oh, actually, for the first "Viconia DeVir ? Banished, The Underdark Saga Part I" do you actually go to Underdark, or is the entry saying 'I own her, etc etc" the last part? And will I still have my current progress in our relationship with her (I chose romance) when I untick it and switch on Part III?

Thanks :)

Make sure Stoker is the active quest. If it is you will see one quest target for Stoker and another for the direction you are supposed to go.

Part 1 of Viconia is done when the quest log says that you are ready for the next part of your relationshiip. Should be stage 254.

In the next part you will have a choice whether you want to stay in a romance with her or not.

Hi Sultericdrums!
I love playing with Viconia and Stalker (both chapter one), and I was wondering if there was any possibility for them to interact when they both follow the player. Stoker could make a joke and she could sigh or say that all humans are fools, something like that. I've heart that the Heart of the Dead mod (I've not played it) had such a feature for the companions it provided. It would greatly add immersion to me if my two favorite companions could stop ignoring each others.
BTW, I'm looking forward the animations concerning the flirt pack, I'm sure it'll be great! Thank you for all your hard work and for sharing it!

In Oblivion this is impossible unless I merged him into the same mod. I tried, asked around, etc.

Dang, thats to bad. If I had to take a stab at it, I'd probably try to create a new npc, in a hidden test cell someplace.

If I understand the construction kit right (Big if) , I would then set up all the packages to get them to recognize each other. However, the only time they'd actually meet is if the npc in the test cell is overridden by the other mod(If that works, then one could make a false Vicona as well). *sighs* However, just thinking about trying to get a working conversation sparked up between the two gives me a mild headache.

Thank you for the answer. I'm sorry it doesn't work, but this does not prevent your companions to be great already!

So If I understand correctly, The new merged mod you're working on is Viconia parts 1-3, right? and the vampire hunter is still an independant mod? If so, what's the advised play order for these two? I'm thinking of adding the vsmpire hunter, but want to pounce on Viconia when she's available. MAybe not the best choice of words....ok.

I would play The Vampire Hunter after. And keep Viconia home.

But doesn't that mean, after you've gotten Viconia home, that she'll show up in the Underdark when you go there with Stoker Wolff?

I think SD mentioned that she would have a short cameo in that mod, but I might be mistaken. When he means home, I am guessing that for the reason there won't be two Viconia's? I think this was talked about once.

btw, SD, have you seen any of the new stuff going in the expansion Shadows of Old Shanatar yet?

I thought it was, too, and that he said she would show up in the Underdark, seemingly without knowing you, even if you had her loaded somewhere else as a companion in her own mod. But, I could be misremembering.

Is Viconia supposed to report player's crimes? She does it to me.

No, she isn't. She does (at least, did, as of a couple of months ago) repeat a single phrase I couldn't understand (must be Dummer) over and over, each time, but Sultericdrums said he was going to work on that. He didn't say anything about making her incredibly virtuous--which, when you think about it, wouldn't make much sense. She's towards the late end of your loading list, correct?

There is a brief cameo with Viconia in The Vampire Hunter. But it goes deeper than that. Viconia, unlike your party, will be attacked constantly.

She says something like "Stay! Go! [Whatever]" when I break a lock or take some red item (not each time, but often enough) and once in a while, a guard shows up to arrest me. I make sure to keep the sneaking indicator dim whenever I do something illegal, and without her in vicinity, NPCs never notice me, so it must be her. For that matter, Ahnassi does the same effect, while Vilja nor Neeshka never do.

In the lower half, but not lower than Bashed Patch.

That's probably the reason.

I believe the problem is Viconia's level of responsibility - it is set to 88 in chapter 1 (haven't go chapter 2). Set it to 0 and she will stop reporting players.

Sulteric, I think maybe you never saw a question I posted a couple of pages back:

I know you were working on trying to add in conversation files for Viconia. Will you do that by following the normal conversation pattern so that she can freely interact with other npcs?

I'm wondering as I'm working on an upgrade of my companion Vilja, and I'm adding in more extended interactivity with companions and other npcs. It works well with companions like CM partners and unique companions that are using standard voices. But as you know, Stoker, Saerlith and Viconia currently don't have the conversation files needed for them to respond correctly when Vilja try to engage them in her little chats, so the interaction gets a bit limited. I have thought of some workarounds, but if Viconia will have conversation files matching the normal setup, this won't be needed for her.

I had no idea! I'll fix that in all my companions.

I tried to get it to work in the merge but I cannot get it to work at all. She will not respond to any NPCs conversation. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm wondering if may be can combine forces and get it to work. I can always send you the esp for the merged Viconia.

Absolutely :)

I'll PM you my e-mail address, so that you can send her over.

You got me started now, so I did something I have thought I should do for a long time, but never got around to... I put together a little question- and answer-thread on Oblivion dialog, which I put http://forums.elricm.com/emma/viewtopic.php?p=43058#43058. I wrote a post about conversations there, with a screenshot as illustration. I'm hoping it makes some sense... Explaining dialog in words is often so hard (english isn't my native language), but with an illustration maybe it works a little better.

Update time.

The merge will be MUCH simpler for the user. Here is what will happen.

- The merge will be released and will contain both mods for ease of use. The transition between quests will be seamless.

- The original Viconia mod, what is now Part I, will still be available under Optional Files if people just want her as a companion independent of the Underdark.

- The original OMOD will disappear completely. There is another mod that gives her the same ability to learn spells as it does.

The author of Vilja and I are working on getting her to talk to and respond to Vilja and other NPCs. Once that is done the merge will be released.

Updates will consist of the following:

1. Any bug fixes required.

2. Additional re-voicing of the original quest. Greenwarden and I didn't get a chance to finish this yet because of real life issues but it will be finished and I will release batches as they are completed.

3. Hugging animation that fires automatically from the flirt menu. No orbs. No spells needed. More may come after that.

Dude! I am about to go crazy. It would be so awesome if Vilja, who I plan to invite to the team this summer, could...talk with the rest of the team. That would be sweet! Of course, I would be happy with any of the other updates as well, not even all of them!

Thanks for the status update! :D

Uhm... Vilja already *is* talking to everyone. Only exception is Viconia, Stoker and Saerlith because they haven't got any conversations, but in the WIP-version of Vilja I added a quick-fix for this, so not even this will stop her from nagging at Stoker if he makes too many remarks over the 'interesting view he has over her behind' ;). However, with added conversation files for Viconia, she will be able to talk also to other npcs, the same way as Vilja, Neeshka, Rhianna, CM Partners etc.

It is good to hear things went well. I would rather you took your time and released the update at the full potential in which you saw it than rush to please the users. That's my view anyway. :)
