summarise each TES game in one word...

Post » Mon May 16, 2011 10:31 pm

Well, for Daggerfall, nothing indoors can be attacked and horses/pigs/dogs/camels/etc. can't be attacked, either, so not everything can die, or even be attacked.

Daggerfall: Cozy
Morrowind: Home
Oblivion: Action (Combat, sneaking and the likes was alot more fun and intense then in previous games, mostly.)

I have played Arena, but not too much and I can honestly say that Im not sure what to say about it.

And I'll name the games based on who seemed to have the most influence over their development.

Clever! In a similar fashion, I feel that each game appeals to a different aspect or spirit within the player. These include:

Arena: the adventurer
Daggerfall: the actor
Morrowind: the pioneer
Oblivion: the tourist

I'll give one word and then a brief explanation:

Arena: Wat? (how do I swing sword, I'm clicking the mouse and.... oh... I have to drag the mouse while holding the button)

Daggerfall: unseen (haven't played it yet)

Morrowind: Unique (my first TES game. I was blown away)

Oblivion: Casual (it was dumbed down, period)

This made me think this:
make it free, just free. Bind it to a toggle(F). Mouse 1 is poke, 2 is auto shield-dodge. You can add string like mechanics(and a holding button(f again but holding)).

Edit: Nah, it won't work. I don't wanna use auto lock or something.

Morrowind: Damn this is tough
Oblivion: Damn this is easy

I think my games are reversed or something.
My swords always break after a few skeletons on higher levels in Oblivion and then I die.
I never did wait though so that may have been my problem.
I never had any problems with morrowind though I always use weapons with which my character is most proficient.
Though I haven't played Tribunal or Bloodmoon yet because I keep starting over.
This speaks VOLUMES.
Those goddamned skeletons scare the crap out of me

I mean, if you think Oblivion is underrated, maybe you should read http://www.elderscrolls.com/home/home.php.

It continues to win every award under the sun. In fact, the only people who don't believe Oblivion to be the greatest thing ever are those of us who know Bethesda is capable of so much better. It really only sees harsh criticism on this particular forum.

If anything, Oblivion is extremely overrated because not enough of these critics give Bethesda's older games the amount of attention they deserve.

Oblivion is extremely overrated

I was referring to these forums.
This sub forum alone is proof of that.
