Summary of the current situation

hi guys,

I just wanted to create this thread to make a summary about Crysis 2's current situation.
I'll higlight by opinion (italic font & underlined)
Bugs
The game itself is playable for most players, problems like flickering and CD keys, online accounts, etc. are working for ... let's say 95% of the complete players.
Bugs like Nanocatalyst not collectable have been fixed,
for flickering there are several profiles for nVidia & AMD cards, and workarounds here in the forum.

Graphics
Most people (like me) complain about the huge downgrade in terms of graphics.
The lightning is far superior in Crysis 2.
The water and textures not.
DirectX 11
We all thought Crytek messed us around, but they announced the DirectX 11 Patch a month ago.
They haven't released a screenshot or something, and we all hope the DirectX 11 Patch will come soon and will be AWESOME and make the game to a true PC game.

Anti-Cheat / Hacking
This is the topic which makes me sad.
Instead of checking the process memory of the Crysis2.exe, they encrypt the files and lock the consoles.
We're seeing that this is NOT helping. Instead we got m***f**k*ng cheaters like BOOMIJUSTSH0TYOU and CRYTEKPROGRAMMER, which are proud that they don't get banned for that.
They aren't deleted from the Leaderboards (yet) and I am very unsure that Crytek will ever do this.
Votekick
Votekick is USELESS!
It can be accessed through the consoles with the "vote" and "votekick" command.
Most people don't know that so they won't use it.
Basically it also fails because of that, and people like BOOMIJUSTSH0TYOU have written a hack that bypasses the votekick and uses the feature to kick everyone they want :(

What about DLC's
Before the release of Crysis 2 Crytek announced there will come DLC definitely.
At the web there were rumours about a so called DLC 'Escalation Map pack' (unsure if that was the name) exclusively for XBOX360, but they were ALL fake.
Nothing more is known.

Modding & SDK
Crytek announced in a letter from Cevat directly that Crytek will release an Editor for Crysis 2 (thx god!) and an Indie CryEngine 3 SDK.
They also relaunched CryMod.com, the official Modding portal for all Crytek games (including Far Cry).. take a look at the site!
The SDK will be released in August, and some time before will therefore the Crysis 2 Sandbox Editor.

Communication to the Community
Oh dear, what we're seeing now is.. just ridiciulous.
Since 1 week no moderator/admin posted something here in the forums.
Before the release they were also .. let's say, not as talkative as we wish...

What are they doing at the moment?
I've got an idea. What if the engine itself is capable of much more?
The videos are showing sooo great things and what we got in the game is maybe 30% or so..
Crytek is hopefully preparing a 2GB patch (compressed ofc), that enables great graphics for high end pcs.
I just don't think Cevat lied. He is hopefully doing something.
People should know, that Crytek aren't sell-outs. They were just focusing a lot on consoles till the release.
And ofc, people like SilentPhenomed should accept that Crysis 2 IS a console port. (technically spoken not, but what we got NOW!)

I hope it's complete.
Crytek: GO and do something.

Yeah, but most times it's on the user side. I am sure about that, had the same issue.

wrong again, you have no clue if I'm through a router or direct to the modem. I'm glad you found a fix for YOUR issue, the rest of us are screwed

As to the disconnection issue: the motto 'save often' doesn't ring here does it, I tend to have a couple of games then quit out thus saving your xp, don't go for 6 bloody hours continuously, especially with the problems with disconnection, which happened to me once...
