Summerset Isle Add-on Content

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 5:15 pm

a good place for new missions and for experts of the magics
similar to the shivering isles expansion for oblivion but with high elves for leadership

I'd love this, but one thing at a time. Lets get the game first.

 Every province should get their own game, none of this "shoehorn them in as DLC" nonsense.

I highly doubt that will ever happen, but BGS has said that they would rather make Fallout 3 style DLCs for a number of reasons

That is, disappointing. I wonder why. I hope it's not just "loldlc is more profitable".

no actually thats exactly what it is.

"It takes too long"

"we rather do DLC's along the line of what we did with Fallout 3"

"Nothing on the scale of Shivering isle, because it took to long and we didnt like keeping our fans waiting"

Like are you ******* kidding me? we waited 5 years for Skyrim, we waited for Bloodmoon, We waited for Tribunal, what kind of bullsh excuse is that.

all about the money guys all about the money, Beth is shaping up to not be what she once was.

and what the heck are people saying Atmora for, you know thats an ENTIRE continent and floats the same boat as why Summerset isle shouldn't be DLC? infact how about we stop talking about DLC's and talk about EXPANSION PACKS k? stop encouraging this Game company Bs that is DLC's.

and if you are so familiar with Atmora to the extent you even know its name, you'd know its Frozen wasteland now, its barren, nothing is there anymore.

Maybe we should make a petition?

I was going to post the same exact thing but I assumed they just meant part of the continent (which is still a rediculous idea considering no Elder Scrolls game has traveled outside of Tamriel). But yes, Atmora is basically the equivalent of Antarctica. http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2008/04/04/arctic11a.jpg.

Summerset Isle should be its own game.
Now, I believe that the island of the Psiijic order should be DLC for THAT game.
If it has appeared to the mortal plane again, that is.

Nope. I'd like each game to be in a separate province. I'm not exactly sure where they will go with an expansion though, but since I know next-to-nothing about the actual storyline in Skyrim I could only speculate anyways. But I am fairly certain it won't be a totally new province.

I was actually hoping they'd have TES:V in Summerset Isle, but when I heard they had copyrighted Skyrim way back when I wasn't too disappointed.

Only if it is a full fledged expansion with another big land.

Summerset Isle is the perfect place for an awesome 'STAND ALONE" Elder Scrolls game. Down grading a great place like that to DLC would be a disgrace!

People said that exact same thing when they were saying, "No, Skyrim shouldn't be the next setting! It's just snow!" Keep in mind, Bethesda isn't afraid of recons.

Fixed it for you.
Yeah, traveling from kingdom to kingdom in Daggerfall took weeks.

And Broken-Scale, Skyrim has never been described as being "snow and ice," save for Arena, which is mostly retconned. Altmora, on the other hand, snow and ice. It's why everyone left there, even the proto-nords!

IDK what your prejudice against DLC comes from. Although KotN was terrible, Shivering Isles was easily as good or even better than both Bloodmoon and Tribunal. I think Beth knows what they're doing and have certain ideals when it comes to quality.

On topic, I would like to see High Rock as well. It's the most suitable geographic location and isn't too huge. That said, I wouldn't mind another daedric realm or the like. Sumerset Isle however, would be a total joke to cram into a DLC. If they release a big territory like that in a DLC, I will worry hard.

Maybe not, since they're not allowed and the only result would be instant thread closure?

Fast Travel fixes it for both of you- you get there in seconds. :P

With Oblivion's scale it would take about an hour without fast travel. The whole of Cyrodiil took me 21 minutes at a low level.

They were complaining about Bethesda not doing full sized expansion DLC because "it takes too long". They want an expansion. Don't know where you got the idea they hated DLC, that's not what they said at all.

I think Orsinium would make a pretty good expansion. It's a small city state, in an area we haven't seen much of, in orc culture. It could be wholly indoors if necessary. It is made entirely out of metal, giving us some interesting architecture. It would not take forever to make, and could provide us with a political intrigue plot to rival Tribunal.

A visit to Wrothgarian Mountains could be an interesting DLC, as the lanmd of the orcs isn't very big. With a DLC like that and Dragontail Mountains appearing in a game settled in Hamerfell, we would have seen all of the Orsimer's lands.

Shivering Isles was an expansion, not a DLC. What others are complaining about is that Beth said they would probably never do a Shivering Isles/Tribunal/Bloodmoon caliber expansion again. Their new focus is on stuff like KotN for Oblivion or Point Lookout for Fallout 3.

This. I don't know why people would want another province as a DLC, how fun would it be with a small Summerset Isle with incredibly limited stuff to do?
Leave it for Elder Scrolls VI.
