[WIPz] Summerset - Land of the Altmer

Glad I could help.

I'm not very good at doing the roads and textures yet though, so I'm afraid I won't be of any help there.

Im terribly sorry for the triple post, but I posted a thread over at the nexus forums requesting for anyone who wants to make a map based on the Summerset basic map,and the Skyrim basic map. I also asked if anyone wants to make maps for Morrowind and Black Marsh as I could easily make the basic maps for them.

I would like to see mountains, but much more subtle and not that many ridges, like you see in the cyrodiil map:

I think maybe you should make the mountain region a tinner line, like you see here:

Maps with roads in them:
- http://media.photobucket.com/image/tamriel/Trevor0/Tamriel1.jpg

Keep up the great work :foodndrink:

You're not taking into account how another mod team's map designed to match their worldspace's land size and shape will line up with another modder's land size and shape. It's doubtful they'll match, which would lead to inaccuracies and misaligned map markers.

absolutely correct..that's what I wanted to say...coastlines, city locations etc etc will not match properly...I have made a basic map using TESAnnwyn for the so far released heightmaps...all I need is someone who can improve it and combine it with the vanilla or some elven style map...

cheers

sorry did not see shadowbeasts post...

hey GOOGLPOX :-)

the heightmaps made by me are a moders resources so everybody is free to use them in any way...so what I write now is no critique...
if you are going to use only a Summerset ingame map it will not work as intended in the tamriel worldspace...it will be useless for people playing for example Ilianas Elsweyr mod together with my Valenwood heightmap, sailing mods or the other tamriel heightmaps....also keep in mind that other people will mod the Summerset heightmap as well, which is the basic idea of the tamriel heightmaps ....if you are going to be a part of the silgrad towers beyond cyrodiil projects, planning to mod the whole province on your own and making it comptible with their other projects, you should consider transfering the Summerset heightmap into its own worldspace....this way an own ingame map will make sense too....
I guess modding the provinces like the people from silgrad towers do and the idea behind the tamriel heightmaps is too different to work together in one project...but as I said these are just my thoughts and you are absoultely free to use the Summerset heightmap as you like :-)

I`m not sure I understand the map thing, but there are 3 people that have an interest in modding diffrent versions of Summerset, if I understand it correctly?.
onra, Googlepox and khalvin8, you should find a common ground and join forces :hugs:

I thought Khalvin8 was part of the team and onra was helping by making our rojects compatible... But if we transfer the heightmap to a new worldspace (which we have to use TESAnnwyn or something right?), then it wont be compatible... But it would be for the best to place it in its own worldspace, and keep the heightmap there as LOD.

Then ignore my post, it's seems like I totally misunderstood the situation :slap: :P

this is absolutely your decision how you want to use the Summerset heightmap...as I stated I made this as a modders resource free to use for everybody in any way...
I personally will extend use and mod the Tamriel Heigthmaps as intended....means all provinces in one worldspace ( tamriel) and used as a modders resource free to mod for everybody ....
if you want to transfer the heightmap into its own WS, indeed TESAnwynn will be the right tool for doing it ...it works more stable and faster than the CS....

Wait... Im confused on how to use TESAnnwyn.. it seems as if there's no option to take cells from a worldspace and move it to another worldspace.
EDIT: I am using the -w command, but it wont work. I type "tesannwyn -w Tamriel" and it won't work...
EDIT: Nevermind got it to work I think. Now I need to move the Summerset.esp

Trandoshan finished the model and is going to work on more.
I worked some more on the overall Tamriel map, just for fun, as its now not needed. But here it is...

Is thre a way to copy onra's heightmap directly into the worldspace, objects and all? Because TESAnnwyn only copies the height. And I realized there has got to be a simpler way than redoing all the land by finding everydge of Summersset to border it.

Suggestion on race and creatures to be added to Summerset.
Some might not be lore friendly, but since there are very little lore about summerset
(from what I understand) it might not be a problem:

He probably meant them to use as non-playable NPC races, just like Dremora in vanilla Oblivion...

I have Trandoshan's models, I just cant create the UV map for them. Well, I can, but its so detailed that there are extremely large amounts of small triangles that I cannot possible hope to texture all of them. Is there a way in nifskope to add nodes to seperate areas, and texture it in chunks?
