Summonable creatures, and multiple summons?

Post » Wed Mar 09, 2011 12:53 am

The Elder Scrolls has always had a large varitey of Summonable creatures, such as bears, skeletons, ghosts, atronachs, and variations of Daedra. Within The Shivering Isles expansion, more oppurtunities were given to summon native realmed creatures like the shambles, hungers, and the notourious Golden Saints and Dark Seducers. However, once i had the most powerful summons, i was still thriving for more. I never got the flare i was looking for during summoning. I'am hoping for many more summonable creatures to debut in Skyrim. Perhaps Demons, Golems ( Iron, Stone, Flesh etc.) New varieties of Undead, even new flying summons (besides the lame imp) such as a Phoenix or firebird, stymphallian bird, gargoyle. My ideas are not extrremly vast, so please feel free to post comments of your own ideas i can incorporate into the polls. What do you guys think?

What I'm curious about, is what happens when you dual wield a summoning spell?

If two fire spells create a more powerful fireball, will two summoning spells create a more powerful version of the summoned creature, or multiples of that creature?

I just want to be able to summon a small army of skeletons warriors to ransack every town i pass through. And I want to see more animals summons such as bears or spirit wolves.

don't break the lore - no phoenix, etc without fitting them into the lore. I like a suggestion I read in another thread which was that summons either reduce your maximum magika. This way as a powerful conjurer you could run around with multiple scamps or one strong daedra.

Love the idea of summoning some flying things.

I think basically, once you have a very high skill in conjuration, maybe like 70-80 there should be a couple of perks to get that increase you 'summon guage'. Once you have them you can perhaps summon a maximum of 3? (Let's not get silly and suggest too many).

I voted for "others" to be summoned because I think there should be many different creatures to choose from, the more the merrier. I do think more can be done with summoning. I don't like using that spell because

1) they don't stay for long, they need to be around much longer
2) You can only summon one at a time
3) There's no way to control them after they are summoned
4) it just lacks something that makes it unfun to me.

I like mage characters, so yes, I'd like a multi-summons option. Though they must be part of the lore!

Not that http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=oblivionmods.detail&id=677 can't add it later if it's not there.

Multiple summons yes. But for fairness sake I don't think you should be able to summon more than one of the same summon. So no multiple Xivilai or Liches.

Demons? Non-Daedra demons? The term "demon" in TES refers to Daedra, as does "Hell" to Oblivion. Non-Daedra demons do not exist in TES.

I definitely would like to be able to summon two or three monsters at once though, and to have a small army of summoned creatures. It would need to be balanced though, like if you summon 3 scamps, then each one will be weaker than if you just summoned one scamp. Conjuration was already incredibly powerful in Oblivion and Morrowind, it needs to be nerfed a tiny bit in Skyrim if there's going to be multiple summons at once.

I think you should be able to summon however many creatures you want, but each one drains your magicka a certain amount and if you run out they all turn on you as you have lost control of them, so say one clanfear just makes your mana regenerate slower, 2 starts it going down and by then you would be out anyway, and then your creatures all turn on you above attacking anyone else because you were trying to dominate their will

Summoning has been done well in TES games. It would be cool is we could customize what we can summon. Like...create a creature mode.

I want summoning to require you to keep the spell active in your hand or lose control of the summon (or it disappears).

To compensate the summons should be powerful creatures.

I want this because I want Skyrim to get rid of the system of mages casting a bunch of "buff" type spells and then just firing fireball after fireball! Its boring! The shield spell should not be a "buff" either, but be cast quickly like blocking with a shield, and summons should not be a cast and forget either, as it would require serious concentration to keep that daedra from turning on you!

I voted other, I really need to see more of the creatures that exist in Skyrim, but summoning creatures like ice wraiths would be cool.

Huh? Because you find that play style boring it shouldn't be allowed?

Get over yourself, this game does not revolve around you.

well its not that you duel wield the same spell to make it stronger, but you can choose two spells to duel wield so if you only had one spell equipped then it'd be full power and if you had two different spells it'd be less powerful but you can cast faster and what not

I'd like to see conjuration have three perk paths, one for creature conjuration, one for gear conjuration and another for whatever else conjuration does

Creature Conjures would have stronger, longer and higher quanities of summons. Gear Conjures would have Weapon Enchants, Duration enhancers and Weapon skill buffs, The third conjure path could do... stuff.
