Summoning Spirits and Souls From Aetherius and Oblivion Real

For you lore buffs out there! I had a particular question regarding such conjurations. In Skyrim, we can summon a Hero of Sovngarde to fight. Now, I know that conjuration is the act of summoning beings and creatures from other Realms to fight temporarily without "binding" them to Nirn. But is there any reason it can be done to souls? Or does the same situation and "science" apply?

I realize this may not be just a dragonborn ability, considering Lucien Lachance passed and was able to be summoned to fight. He retains most of his memories as well. Rufio in Oblivion was the same.

We also get to summon Wolf Spirits to fight for the player if he/she is a Lycanthropy. In the cure quest, we face these Wolf Spirits that are also an essence of the soul itself, a beast soul. So by summoning them, does it mean a soul that went to Hircine's realm is being summoned? Or is it plausible that it is just a regular wolf?
