Summoning Your PA

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 8:54 pm

I wanted to hear the community response of this possibility. How would you feel if your pip boy could summon your power armor and the suit actually started walking towards you and turns around and open itself up? Also consider the possibility that you can direct it to areas you see fit.

Personally I would love that feature even though it seems a bit iron man like, nevertheless I like it since it makes PA even more advance. Now of course the suit can only do so much and the pip-boy summoning range can only go so far.

I'd be Ok with it been dropped by verterbird but it walking to me is a bit too much and it been able to fight independently is a shark jump on a dolphin from my point of view

If power armor could walk on it's own, it would never have been designed for a person to actually wear.

That going to far if it can fight! All I'm saying is if you are out of your suit and you happen to be in a jam and the suit is close by but you can't reach it and the raiders are going to get inside it seems like a nice feature to have in the pip-boy.

They cut the wasteland conjuration skill. Said it was too spreadsheety.

But, no, I'd rather they jut have tons of PA variants.

Lol! Yeah as Draco John said, it would be cool if was airdropped in but I wouldn't want it walking by itself.

I'd rather they just let your wear your PA around indefinitely instead of using retcon to turn it into a limited-use mech.

they didnt retcon anything... this is how power armor was supposed to be in all the fallout games... fallout 3/NV was the exception to the rule

and if its about the needing power... we get an early model of the power armor that requires mircrofusion cells.. which can be upgraded later but the one you start with has limited power.. its not retconned.

I'm fine with that, but I don't really want to deal with morons saying crap like "I'm playing Fallout, not Titanfall!"

In 1, 2, and Tactics, you never had to take off your power armor. And Fallout 3 was the first game with power armor older than the T-51b and established that only earlier model T-45 armors used small energy cells before miniaturized fusion cells became a reality. Since the T-45d armor in 3 didn't need small energy cells, one can conclude that T-45d had one of the fusion cells that last hundreds of years. Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics never treated power armor like a limited-use vehicle.

I think we will be able to call our Vertibird to us with our PA. I really want that so much. It walking to us is a little to much for me.

It would be pretty darn cool, but I don't think it quite fits. :)

I voted yes but not having it walk to you that's kinda creepy I'm more wanting a vertibird to drop it off to me in a nice clearing that would be cool

Codsworth, send me Veronica. By the way I'd totally love seeing Power Armor drop from a Vertibird just like that.

I voted yes but only under certain circumstances.

1. It can't fight and is vulnerable and "dumb" meaning it's prime and only directive is to take the shortest path to you (obviously avoiding most large obstacles)

2. It walks at normal NPC walking speed

3. There is no hot key button for it and the command is activated through a pipboy screen, since from what it looks like the pipboy won't completely pause the screen(?) forcing you to find cover

I also hope that if your PA is limited by fuel you aren't immediately ejected once it runs out. Hopefully there's some kind of shutdown animation where you look down and realize you can't move or something.

Do you need to reach a certain kill streak to call it in?

It's not a robot, it's an exoskeleton. It shouldn't walk by itself.

I'd like us to be able to travel in it, no matter how costly in fuel. Delivery wouldn't be required then.

Well if you could have it delivered to your location would it in turn be just left sitting around when you aren't using it? Could raiders or somebody jump in it and attack us with it?

Consider the following: the pieces wouldn't have a weight characteristic in customization unless using the power armor meant it had to be within your max weight.

Just allow enemies to do the same thing with their pipboys and you will have an rpg version of Titanfall.

No.

The tech wasn't developed for it, Pre-War. Big MT had something similar in the prototype stages, the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Y-17_trauma_override_harness, but that was it.

It uh... didn't end at all too well.

Probably not because of the lack of training. It would be like leaving me with a fighter jet, I wouldn't be able to do jack with it..

That was just early-model power armor not found in FO 1, 2, or Tactics. The early FO power armors didn't require any type of refueling (and the lore specifically said the T-51b had a fuel lifespan of hundreds of years).
