Sundercliff Watch loot

Post » Thu Apr 15, 2010 6:55 pm

I've made my first visit to Sundercliff Watch and was stopped in my tracks by the amount of loot I was to amass. I bought a house in Bravil for that reason and already made two visits to it bringing my loot to safe chests in the house. The enchanted arrows are priceless and I just couldn't resist to leave all the Daedric and Ebony armor without picking them up. But I've only explored one third of the Sundercliff Watch so far I believe and there's just no ending to it all. Wonder where do you guys store your loot? Are there perhaps some safe containers inside this dungeon/village? Or are there some nearby forts, caverns, cabins with safe storage places? (I never use quicktravel and will never use it so quicktraveling to Aurelinwae and back is out of the question.)

Try spels or potions that increase your strength or try potions/spells with 'feather' effect. This wil make the items in your inventory lighter so you can carry more.

With my gear and & potions I can carry around 1700-1800 pounds. Haven't counted but I think total loot would be 10x times that.

It's one of those things- gotta learn to sacrifice something. I think that leaving un-enchanted weapons behind is usually the easiest, but agree that Ebony/ Daedric are too valuable. Try leaving some of your potions and scrolls in your house, might eleiminate some extra wasted space.

Just stash 'em in containers along the way, then when you're done, decide on one entrance near the entrance to stash everything - a corpse works best for this. Move everything there with however trips it takes, then when you've gotten everything in there, start ferrying it outside. If you use a corpse as a container, you could set up another one outside, then loot everything from the inside corpse once you have all the loot on it, go outside, and place all but what you can carry onto the outside corpse. Then, ferry it all to a safe container or a vendor.

I can carry around 730 pounds of stuff. But even then, I don't grab -everything-. I take in account the maximum amount an NPC can buy for (Right now, I have a merchant with 3000g) So with a high or maxed mercantile, I don't bother with items over that. I also pick up expensive, but light items. Daggers, boots, greaves, sometimes gauntlets. Enchanted rings and clothing as well.

My venture through Sundercliff is profitable. And you can do it more than once! They respawn like any other dungeon.

My char is a level 20 glass cannon with base strength & endurance, so the only loot she normally bothers with is gold coins and arrows. Makes clearing dungeons a breeze. She has a great bow, plenty of pretty clothes, a nice little house, a handful of enchanted rings, a pretty horse and even some gold in her coinpurse. What else could a girl want? Ok, she has a cupboard in her house to store her extra clothes, but that's about it. She finds it quite liberating actually to leave enchanted weapons and daedric armor just lying where it falls in dungeons. She didn't even bother to haul the razor out of Sundercliff - she doesn't touch melee weapons and hardly needs another butter knife.

tip: when you are encumbered just calculate the value of items weight like this:

lets say you have an axe worth 1000 gold. the weight is 100 kilo's.
then the axe's value is 10 gold per kilo.

1000 gold : 100 kilo's = 10 per kilo

Two things I do:

  • When I start to get loaded down I go through and discard anything that's not worth at least 15 gold per pound
  • I have a mod that allows me to summon a chest where I can store as much as I want. I clean it out after every dungeon run, so I don't use it for long-term storage. I use it only to avoid situations exactly like what you're describing where the game ceases to be fun and becomes more like work.
