Had Fallout NV sitting around since release. I played about a couple hours or so and saw some glitches but nothing gane breaking. Decided to wait for a patch or 2 before hitting it. Certainly helped w/FO3. Been gaming since the Atari days and first gamesas product was Daggerfall. Always worth waiting on patches with Beth. Not getting into it, just a fact. It is what it is. My 1st playthrough got me on my way, did the Gecko deal with Sunny (she survived) and a bit more and called it good after seeing levitating and stuck Rad Scorps once I took off out of town. So my deal that I thought would be worth mentioning - I blew up my install, all saved games & cleared cache before re-installing to HD, starting and of course throwing on the patch. All was normal until after the first batch of Geckos. Sunny asked if I wanted to help with the other 2 water facilities, I said yes. We hit the 2nd one, I grabbed the meat & hides from the Geckos and proceeded to the 3rd site. I noticed her pooch was wandering aimlessly and discovered her dead! Odd to say the least. This didn't happen on the first go through and I thought it was strange that she would perish doing her normal routine. The loss of NPC's and controlling/losing sidekick's - the fact this happend kinda worries me and I thought it worth mentioning. I'm actually a bit leery of proceeding at this point. Am I a bit over-worried due to the track record or is it "just one of those things"? Always possible one of the Geckos "rolled a 20" as it were. Thoughts from the other gamers? I have a save before talking with Sunny I will load up and go through and I will stick by her to see how it all transpires tomorrow or later on tonight/morn. Gotta get the kids to bed.

i dont know but weird sh** happens every time i installed the game to my hard drive i tried three games with out and three games installed. the three games that was installed to my hard drive had giant rad scorpions spawning in good springs in the beginning of the game, even tho it does run smoother installed i had npc running from me and dying more than usual the other three times it ran slower but the game ran legit. just clear the cache and you should be fine.

Never happened to me, although I'm sure it can happen. I restarted numerous times due to either dying early on or not being satisfied with my character and she never even came close to dying, but I noticed sometimes a random powder ganger or two will wander by the water source area and attack the pc. Maybe this time they ran into her, but that's also unlikely because she seems to stick more to the rocky area and not near the road (where powder gangers roam). There's also the possibility that she ran in between the geckos and the settler who's being attacked at the third source location. This may happen if you take too long following her. So, it may not be a glitch, but a very unlikely event to happen...I'm sure it won't happen again being that I never ran into this problem or even heard of it for that matter.
