Just been excitingly playing my game when I com across a pretty quest ending bug:

Whilst helping Ringo I sort everything out and then return to tell him everyone is ready to go. Straight after which Sunny walks through the gas station door and keels over dead. Very helpful. So funnily enough I can't 'Join up with Sunny' as required due to her lying face down on the floor.
If it wasn't so irritating I'd laugh at the way she is just poleaxed by some invisible means as she breaks the threshold.

Anybody else had this? Anybody know why I'm getting it and how to cure it? Other than to pray for a patch to fix it within the next 18months?

It didnt happen to sunny with me...I quick traveled to goodsrpings and as soon as i get there, easy pete stands up from his chiar and falls over dead...trudy walks past him like nothing happened. all i can suggest is SAVE OFTEN. if you didnt walk back out the door, you coud reload that auto-save.

I've got a save before I enter the shack and talk to Ringo and she died but everytime I try talking to Ringo she comes through and instantly dies. I've reloaded a dozen times now. I've tried running through the door before she gets there to meet her outside but that's impossible. Unless I revert back to an even earlier save but when? When I don't know what causes the problem how can I avoid setting it up again...

methinks that the quest where you fight the powder gang is glitched. i think depending on how many people you recruit, it kills a random townsperson.

after the fight, i found sunny and her dog.

They had their heads blown off.

I wouldn't mind if it killed the old git or even her later on. Problem is it's killing her BEFORE I can get the quest to run... I guess I'll have to wander the wastes and wait and hope a patch fixes it.

Okay, I just reloaded a previous save that was before I convinced anyone else to help, so it was just Sunny that agreed. I then went straight back to Ringo, told he we were ready, she walked through the door... Dead. Same result. So it seems the number of people recruited doesn't affect anything.

Just downloaded an update from xbox live. Was very excited. She still dies...

Just start a new game, if you are just getting to that quest it means you are just starting anyway.

If you meant you already tried starting a new game, then ignore my comment.
