Suppose You Magically Teleported to the World of Skyrim

Post » Tue Sep 06, 2016 11:44 am

And you were able to bring a TV along with a few of your favorite shows (max amount of shows is 10) with every season and episode. Along with the ability to convince everyone that there isn't real people inside the screen. And you were able to find electricity for the TV. What shows would you bring?

I would bring:

Seinfeld (Best sitcom ever)

Friends (Another of my favorite sitcoms)

Two And A Half Men (Only with Charlie Sheen)

How I Met Your Mother

The Big Bang Theory (Might be difficult for Skyrim's citizens to understand the science but would find it hilarious after concepts explained)

24 (One great action show)

Band of Brothers (Actually a miniseries. I would count a miniseries)

Not yet sure what other 4 would be. Maybe Louie could take one place. I have yet to check out a couple of popular ones like the Game of Thrones, Vikings, all those super hero shows, and a few more.

I like your list, except I'd drop the most recent few shows, because I don't watch TV any more (other than news and some sports.) And I'd add Star Trek (the original) and The Twilight Zone to the list.

Original Star Trek

Disney's original Zorro (um.... probably NO ONE but glargg is old enough to remember that - other than me)

Twilight Zone (though - seriously - it was responsible for more nightmares than living in the era when we had duck and cover exercises in 4th grade, to prepare for an A bomb attack....) I mean, remember the one about the earwig?.... *SHUDDER*

Other than that - I don't DO tv any more. Computer games are at least interactive.....

I don't do tv anymore either since I hit about 40 (over a decade ago)

But....generally...All the star trek iterations

Dr. Who

For some odd reason I like The Big Bang Theory

And How I met your mother

Science documentaries like Horizon or Discovery

Can't think of any more that mean much to me

Might add a couple if I recall them

Yep, I remember Zorro. :) Also Howdy Doody, the Lone Ranger, and the Roy Rogers tv series (and a whole bunch more.)

I think the Earwig story may have been a Night Gallery episode (another Serling series); I do remember it. Another show in the same genre was Outer Limits.

none, if I was svcked into Tamriel by some inter-dimensional vortex, I would be to busy trying to survive (I can't imagine a server monkey would be in high demand, so i'd have to learn a trade pretty quickly), and not die of dysentery to watch TV

I can see it now. A bunch of Nords sitting on the couch watching it with a blank stare that would slowly develop into a cringing facial expression, and then after a few laugh tracks later walking up to the television and smashing it with axes, walk up the Throat of the World with said smashed TV, and throw it off the mountain; further smashing it into pieces.

They would then make up a legend about those pieces and name them the cursed shards, said to be made from what used to be a motion displaying box (the television) that played the most infernal of sounds and visuals that was constantly laughing for no reason. No doubt an instrument conjured by the Daedra Prince, Sheogorath, to torture the minds of the sane into madness. The legend would further continue that any shards that are to be found must be cast into the Sea of Ghosts within a day, otherwise the founder of the shard will be marked and eventually a Flesh Atronach will appear and drag the founder of the shard into Oblivion where their mind will be cursed to hear laugh tracks for all eternity.

Laugh track after laugh track. It will never end. You will scream. You will cry. You will beg for mercy. You will plead to the Divines "What cruel fate is this? Why have you forsaken me?!" and you will never hear the answer. Only laughter. Laughter that you will never understand. Never.

If I was suddenly thrown into a survival situation like that, you can bet I'd find the entire collection of Bear Grylls' Man Vs. Wild and some home building/home improvement shows immensely useful.

.. oh, and throw in a few late night shampoo and beauty tip infomercials... for the locals

So, just a yet another What's Your Favourite TV Program thread with a thin fake "in Skyrim" on top..... No thanks, unless you can convince of it being genuinely Skyrim. Otherwise, I reckon it's "Community Discuss" forum.

As for Skyrim citizen and the Big Bang Theory, my mind boggles that you think so. If you need to explain a particular comedy, the odds are they won't find it funny. Way to go to svck the magic (pun intended) out of something, anyway.
