Is 3D supposed to work?

Post » Wed Dec 24, 2008 7:17 pm

Hi all. I have an iz3d monitor and just wanted to know why I can't access the 3D options in the game... Kind of weird... Anyway, I prefer to play games without 3D cause of ghosting, but this title was supposed to host the best optimized 3D graphics ever. So since I'm having the setup for it I would have like to give it a try...

However, my biggest disappointment comes from no dx11 and no support for double gpu. I mean, Crytek is knowned for pushing the limits from a technical point of view and it just backwards from Crysis 1...! Something is wrong. Maybe the console port screwed that up or it is the fact that Crysis 1 didn't sell cause of his high requirements, but I find it disappointing that the hardcoe gamers that wanted to push their rigs to their maximum just got let down...

Appart from that, I'm still enjoying the game, but I didn't get what I paid for.

Well by reading other threads it appears almost nothing works now, I wouldn't be surprised if 3D didn't work.
As for no dx11 and no double gpu, you can blame the xbox and the ps3 for that. A shame that many developers feel the need to bring the PC version down to the level of the consoles. Most of the stuff said about the PC not being a port from the developers was B.S.

I have a 3DTV and the option is greyed out for me too. I'm running on an ATI HD5870 which supports HDMI 1.4 and a Sony 3D TV. I can force the game into 3D with the iz3D drivers, but a bunch of stuff goes a bit funky when i do that, so i'd really like to get the native support going.

if this is about pcs the do you even have the nvidia 3d glassed and sensor kit that you need so 3d works on pc just because the monitor supports 3d you still need the nvidia or ati 3d kit for it to work dont just assume because your monitor supports it will just magicly work.

i have a sony 3dtv with 3d glasses. the back of the box for Crysis says, and i quote '3D Funtionality requires a 3DTV and 3D glasses'. nowhere does it say it has to be Nvidia kit. i can play PC games in 3D (including Crysis 2) using the iz3d drivers, but they don't always work so well.

Crysis 2 has native 3D support, and I read it had support for HDMI 1.4 framepacked resolutions which I know my card can do.

The game has a 3D option in the menus that is greyed out no matter what I do. What I want to know is what do I need to do to enable that option?
