A suprise

Post » Thu Mar 17, 2011 8:10 pm

Well as the title says I got a suprise: http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l243/Kyoparadox/ScreenShot0-1.jpg. I think most will recognize what's on the picture and what it might mean and I'll explain more tomorrow. For now, let the 'wow'-ing begin. :P

Nope! Guess I'll have to wait in suspense until tomorrow. Looks interesting though...

Okay... some kind of new UI? With player co-ordinates? I'm confused.

I am just about to start a new game I've been preparing for weeks. Should I wait for this mod?

It's a new HUD - hooray! :P

Nah, although if you hadn't got the comparison in the corner, I wouldn't have realised what you're pointing out. Good work though. :)

Ohhhh. It's hiding the unexplored areas on his mini map! I'm using that! Damn, now I can't cheat anymore :( If that's what it is...

I think you're right. If so, then cool. That's the one thing that's prevented me from using that mod.

Yup, me too.

Nice, morrowind stylee mini map with fogged out undiscovered areas. Kyoma has had a light bulb moment :goodjob:

I too thought about the FOG of war currently missing in MiniMap HUD (though I don't use it) - is that correct kyoma?

Oh, I get it. It's a version of a HUD minimap with fog. I quite like it without the fog mind, in vanilla Oblivion only a tiny area is revealed. Maybe there's a Wrye Bash tweak.

I don't notice any fog on the minimap in the pic.
The bridge is completely revealed in the minimap for example.

Mapmarkers on the minimap is what I see. Good job Kyoma...knew you'd figure it out eventually.

Funny how we're all seeing different things. :P

I'm under the impression the main big map picture is the new stuff, and the smaller one is the current release, provided to show contrast. I hadn't noticed that the big one is missing map markers though, so maybe I was wrong...

Yes, I'm sure Kyoma is enjoying this immensely. And we're all having fun trying to guess...

I think webrunner is right about it being map markers and not fog of war though...

I agree with Wrinkly: it's fog of war, with the big image in the middle being kyoma's "working copy".

Minimap already displays markers for doors (only), which is the only marker being shown in the little minimap.

Oh, true. I was thinking the large map is the map menu, but I realize now there is no menu border.
I hope that's what it is. Lack of FoW is the deal breaker for me.

Ah, I didn't realize the minimap showed doors. Ok, it must be fog of war then :) So is Kyoma going to hand out prizes for guessing right?

That's the old version. The large image is the new one, which will eventually be scaled down to the mini map size. And there's definitely fog of war on that.
