Survival difficulty overhaul - please don't restrict saves

Post » Fri Mar 18, 2016 3:11 am

OK. This is brand new point for sure...

but I don`t understand why I need to worry about them....?

By the way, even they will have to sleep every 30 minutes because new survival mode won`t let you go on without sleep.

Dude I get the point just fine. Its just a stupid point. You don't seem to get the point though...its very simple.

1.) Bethesda makes game they want to make.

2.) You either play it or don't.

No amount of whining will change it and from what I can tell....Group A #forthewin and the whiners can whine. I really hope that's the way it stays because all these crybabies on video game forums every single day with their entitled "make the game for me and only me and everyone should play the way I want to play or no one can play at all" third grade mentality hoo-ha pretty much ruin video games.

Legit. Get THAT point. Bruh.

The excuses are running out...

Can't wait for survival mode, then maybe we can have civil discourse based on actual experience. I'm pulling for a release alongside automatron. Hopeless naivete, more than likely...

I've said the same thing in another thread, what Beth should do is so damn simple and it can cater to literally both parties.

Step 1. Add toggles for the new survival features

Step 2. Add an achievement or something for those who finish the game with everything turned on

Step 3. ???

Step 4. Profit

I think Bethesda knows better than to assume the vocal minority on this thread represents the whole fanbase. Whiners are more likely to post on forums...most people just play the game and enjoy updates as they come.

Yeah. This would be great way to go for sure.

I personally believe new survival mode will be locked of its difficulty and only allow brand new game.

I probably won`t be starting it until all DLCs are out.

Oh so we're the vocal minority? As evidenced by what? You have no way to prove that we're the minority just as we have no way of proving that you are.

Group A seems to have an awful lot of all-capping ad hominem posters. It's funny reading some of these posters claiming to be of superior intellect, then you see how they compose their message.

Group A seems to have more of the younger crowd.

Just a guess based from witnessed maturity levels.

i play games to get entertained, like everyone else (besides the ones that measure their potency by how hardcoe they are playing games....)

i play survival because the AI in this and almost every other game is mediocre... at best.

in my first run i switched from "very hard" to "survival" at around L20 because it was boring.

face it: people have different understandings of being entertained. for me, walking around for hours through landscapes i visited fifty times before isn't entertaining.

i'd rather have a 20 minute conversation with an NPC that actually leads to something worth the effort.

Then you must understand that other players do not shre your views. Bethesda had them in mind with survival mode, not you. Try not to ruin things for others.

All this thread proves is that we are vocal, not that we are a minority. Most people who play the game aren't active on these forums. We cannot speak for them and neither can you. All we can try to do is come up with logical arguments for our sides of the issues.

No, i'm not asking for ANYTHING to be cancelled out from the concept Beth gave us so far.

I'm just asking to make some things optional.

I know many people like the idea of no fast travel and no-save-unless-sleeping and they should get it, absolutely.

Just give ME the option to enjoy it as well ;)

Why are you so against making it an option?

IT is already an option, in the setting (save on rest set to on, just turn the others off). The system they are 'implementing' is nothing more than locking the rest of the saves to off and locking out manual and quicksave. people are just plain sheep.

you really have no clue what this is about...

"just locking out manual and quicksave" is the thing to be made optional... not saving on sleep ;)

You can choose not to do that. No need to force people to only save at a bed, or give a toggle to do that, when they already have that option in game.

ok, misunderstood you then.

what's the problem with giving an option to "not being able to save at will" to people that want it?

options are good. best thing about options is: you don't have to take 'em.

what is the personal benefit of denying options that don't reflect the way i want to play the game?

it doesn't hurt me if someone wants to play that way... it's not that my FPS will drop with every player that coses to play differently.

Why give a toggle to something in the game already? Players can choose not to save at will by not touching the quicksave/save (manual) buttons in the menu. In the settings, you can customize it to allow only sleep on save. These options are already in the game, a toggles really means nothing at this point.

where in the options i can turn off manual save/quicksave?

i can configure save on "sleep", "wait", "travel", "pip boy"... but not what some people would like: "manual" or "quick"

manual saves and quicksaves are in the pause menu. You can choose not to use those, so a toggle to turn those off is like not using them.
