this is a big win for Console users, no watering down that was requested by those PC players using non CK mods, excellent

I see, I guess I'll wait for mods to the rescue I guess, implementing the save features back into the game and fast travel.

You do realize that comment makes no sense whatsoever? When mods do work, we will change whatever is not liked about about this mode. Console users on the other hand, will have to come hat in hand to us pc users. When Beth decides to allow consoles to use mods that is.

i undestand this. For me really it add a new level to the game, hell i just did the flood quarry at level 5 with the miralucks that place is a nightmare zone now. Back then u could easy quick save and redo it over and over. Now u cant. Hell im not going close to that place any time soon hahahha

Does not bother me since I have only used it a few times in any Bethesda game

It is a Beta for a new mode so Mods should not be active just yet. Lets help Beta this new mode and get it working correctly than we can see how it works with mods. If you need the mods then it might be best to wait.

It was mostly PC users using mods that were begging for toggles etc because they have game stability issues because of these pre Creation Kit mods they are using

I'd agree with you, but only mods I have are pretty much needed. Body replacer so folks don't look so ugly. And a preset replacer, so I can look like Arnold Schwarzenegger. I'm utterly hopeless at creating a decent looking character.

It's not that it's hard, it's more like after over 200-300 hours, you don't want to keep traveling back to the same spot over and over again, especially with the Minutemen radiant quests Preston loves sending you to, and my game crashes several times already, so I don't trust Bethesda with survival mode personally. Mirelurks are not as much of a problem as pissing off the Brotherhood or those suicide mutants you don't know where they are running out from.

Wait... I can still apply new survival to my existing characters right? (PS4)

I've held off the game and my level 49 main minutemen character waiting for new survival...

I haven't played since before automatron.

Please don't tell me it's for new character only.

yeah u can. when u load the save the game is automatic set to Very hard, since if u choose survival u cant turn it down. So what u do is go to option and set the survival difficulty.

i beg to differ.

most stability issues are because the PC, unlike the consoles, isn't a 100% predefined hardware. that's the biggest advantage of consoles... the developer exactly knows the hardware it will run on.

on pc there are millions of hardware/driver/software/OS combinations which are impossible to take into account, less test them.

Well, that could kill the mode for me. I can handle all the features, but if I can't use the console to disable all the debris piles, corpses, bushes and other eye-sores that pollute my settlements I'll go stark raving mad. Of course, I suppose I can always leave survival mode to clean up my settlements, then restore it.

It could be that is only for the Beta. It wasnt list as a feature of Survival.

Comfirm from the official forum the Console is just disable for the Beta.

Does anyone know how survival mode affects the Vertibird? Without durable mod they're already paper planes.

Worried of how this affects them now.

As many of you have said before, you can just mod saves back in later and console players can enjoy the new Survival fully

Man I used to be all "Yeah no saves unless you sleep! Making it hard like old school games!" And then last night my game crashed WHILE saving. Good thing the game apparently auto saved like 30 seconds before without me noticing. I'm not sure how freezable a save feature just for crashes would be but, If the game made auto saves whenever you entered a building for example, and the game crashed, or you get stuck in a wall, it would make those experiences much less painless. Perhaps make it so you can only load one of those "crash" saves like ever 2 or 3 in-game days or something?

maybe you're right... although i don't feel like installing any more mods before the geck is out. especially not any that mess with the game itself.

hoped to be able to keep my "old" survival. now it's either swithing back to "very hard" (which isn't an option for me), using mods or stopping to play :(

if the install would be optional like a DLC, i'd have no problem.

They didn't open a beta specific forum to ask this in, so I'll ask it here.

Even though my plugins.txt is set to read only, my mods were disabled when I tried to load my game with the beta patch active. Is there a workaround, or do I just need to opt out of the beta and wait for the full release? I'd like to try the beta, but not at the expense of my custom armor paints or reverting Curie to vanilla appearance.
