Survival Mode Options

Post » Sat Feb 27, 2016 2:56 am

I am really looking forward to survival mode, but in reading through the potential list of features, I began to realize that I was excited for many of the changes but would prefer to have other things remain the same. For instance, personally speaking, I would prefer to keep the bullet sponge game play and the ability to save whenever I want. It would be really nice if toggling survival mode would allow you to select from a list of modifications, instead of just having it be an all or nothing scenario. I just wanted to see what other people's reactions would be, because I feel like if this is a feature that a lot of people would want, we should start talking about it now, so they might be able to change it. I know a mod could easily do what I'm asking, but I'd prefer to just have the option to toggle some options when they launch survival mode.

What do you guys think?

There is already a topic already on this page on its 2nd thread about this subject.

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes plus infinity.

There are one or two features of the 'proposed' survival mode that I really, really don't like. Having the ability to choose options to tailor to what I want is far more preferable to simply ignoring the mode altogether or having to mod certain aspects out or back in.

No, I think that would defeat the whole purpose of the mode if you get to pick and choose what not to have. Might as well do that with every setting.

So you never go into the Settings menu to adjust volume, turn on/off dialogue subtitles or to change how/when the game automatically saves, etc? You play the game exactly how Beth sets it up with no changes?

Hes not referring to that at all.

Audio volume and dialogue subtitles don't really do much in terms of gameplay. Well audio might for noises, but still different purposes.

I'm not going to use it if I can't manual save. I just couldn't cope with having to start dungeons over and over because I die a lot in dungeons.
