Survivors of the Greymarch?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:24 pm

I read that the Greymarch happens every 1000 years. But, Circa, I think her name is, (the leader of the Apostles in the Shivering Isles) supposedly survived the last Greymarch? How long to people live in Tamriel, or does Sheogorath give his citizens immortality?(from old age, anyway)

It's better if you try not to think about it. Honestly.

It's the realm of a madman and is in my opinion, sheo [censored] with your head.

As nazz said try not to think about it, it ain't a logical place.

Really now, she's crazy. who says she's not making it up?

Because no one else in Shivering Isles knows what the Greymarch is, and she blames Sheogorath for leaving them during the last one.

But I guess you're right. I'll assume they are immortal there.

Considering it's the only place where you can find something even remotely close to telling time (granted, it doesn't work now) Time can't be that different.

Since the realm follow the laws of madness, you get old then you get young then you get old, etc.

Its logical since there is no Logic in this realm :P

We know that people can die over threre, because of the graveyard. And I had assumed that all the citizens of Shivering Isles were immigrants from Tamriel. Maybe they just stop ageing physically once they go over?

She was an elf, right? And elves live longer than humans, don't they?

Problem solved. :)

It seems Sheogorath prevents them from dying of old age and considering those who commit suicide are still trapped in his realm as ghosts, I think he doesn't want to loose the mortals he stole from Mundus.

I don't know what happens with people who die, they don't seem to return as Mankars followers did, but I also doubt they go back to Mundus.

Yes they can. Its not guarenteed but it is possible for them to extend there lifespans that long. Some even older than that. Divayth Fyr is a prime example having lived for over 4,000 years allegedly.

4000 years? I didn't even think Nirin was much older than that. But I guess magic could sustain a life alot longer than modern medicine would. >_<

Nirn is about 7500 years old plus an unmeasurable amount of time from the Dawn Era.

If we are to believe the elven myths, then there isn't a whole lot separating mortals from et'ada other than their tie to nirn. A mortal in a daedric realm, or rather one who calls the daedric realm home, could possibly be exempt from the dreamsleeve. Just a thought.

Indeed, I also tend to think this way. It's all about the binding and purpose. Time and time again, it's irrelevant of time to be timey :)

In other words, the Dragon does exist in all realms, but only because the realms want him to be. As was said in one of the creation myths, when Akatosh formed, it became easier for the others to express themselves.

So there's linearity in the other realms (otherwise it wouldn't even be playable in there), but not aging (unless I guess the prince would want it to be).

Does aging just stop in the SI then? Or does it slow? What if someone wanted to have a child there? So many questions... >_<

Helloooooooooooo?? Sheogorath is INSANE. the Shivering Isles are the expression of Sheogorath, who is INSANE.

As Nazz said it in the beginning, don't think about it. It won't do you any good, you'll just get confused and be given multiple (contradictory) evidence. It's Sheogorath that we're talking about. As far a physics or lore goes, the Shivering Isles are just one of those places where you stop trying to understand and just go with it. You can make your own personal reasons

If it were not for the stats menu in the ingame journal (The part that says how many days have past for your character) I would guess that when you enter the shiverng isles you are rmoved from time altogether. Upon returning to Mundus the time is onlya few seconds after yu entered the realms of sheogorath. Perhaps that could ocur when travelling to any plane of oblivion or even aetherius????

Didnt Sheogorath pick a prophet to live forever, so that the Greymarch could be remembered? Hes the guy you visit when you are about to become the new Sheo.

That was Dyus and he was Jyggalag's pet mortal. Sheo imprisoned him so that he would not interfere with the personal choices of other living things. He also seemed to be very close to Zero-Summing. I don't think Sheo actually planned for you to meet him, but then, what I think isn't really relevant to the whims of the Prince of Madness. Unless I'm the Prince of Madness. Am I? I don't remember...
